Li Xingye didn't have time to explain and just shouted, "Chi Wan! Throw that pot of Fragrant Vine at those men!"
Seeing Chi Yuanshan already beaten to the ground, Chi Wan had no other choice, even though she had no idea what Li Xingye was planning.
She whipped out the pot of Fragrant Vine and hurled it straight at Liu Dali's head!
Although Liu Dali was busy beating Chi Yuanshan, he had also been keeping an eye on Chi Wan.
He was surprised that Chi Wan had produced a potted plant out of nowhere, but his reflexes were lightning-fast. He dodged it with a jerk of his head, then flew into a rage. "You fucking little bitch, you dare to attack me?! You're asking to die!"
He had planned to finish with Chi Yuanshan before dealing with Chi Wan at his leisure, but her attempt to crack his skull open with a flowerpot had thoroughly enraged him.
His eyes were red, like an enraged bull. He yanked Chi Wan toward him, raising his massive hand high before swinging it at her face!
Chi Wan was so delicate; how could she possibly withstand a slap like that?!
Chi Yuanshan's eyes nearly burst from their sockets at the sight. Ignoring the fists raining down on him, he savagely shoved aside the goon blocking his way and scrambled toward Chi Wan.
But just as Liu Dali's palm was about to land on Chi Wan's face, something suddenly bound his wrist and waist!
At the same time, a terrified shriek erupted from behind him. "Snake… Brother Dali… a python! There's a python!! AAAAAHHH—"
Before Liu Dali could even see what it was, he was hoisted into the air and flipped upside down!
From his upside-down perspective, Liu Dali saw the most terrifying sight of his life.
The Fragrant Vine, which had been smashed on the ground moments before, was now growing at an impossible speed, shooting up to seven or eight meters tall in an instant!
Under the night sky, countless unfurling vines, each as thick as an adult's arm, coiled around the legs and waists of all four men like giant pythons, hoisting them into the air upside down!!
Chi Wan had been dragged down in the commotion and fallen hard, but she was uninjured.
A thick carpet of vines had spread out beneath her, weaving into a net that had safely caught her.
Her pupils constricted. She subconsciously clutched at her chest, her hand moving to turn off the tiny camera that had been recording the whole time.
Liu Dali and his men had been right—Chi Wan did like to record everything, especially evidence of a crime. She had originally planned to install the camera in their courtyard house.
Liu Dali and his men were terrified, but the vines held them fast, making it impossible to struggle free.
"Brother Dali, what the hell is this stuff!"
"Help!! Let me down! AAAAAHHH!!"
The only ones left standing were the stunned father and daughter, the tables having turned in an instant.
Chi Wan helped Chi Yuanshan up. Thankfully, Li Xingye had intervened just in time, so her father wasn't seriously hurt.
She finally let out a sigh of relief, then, with a cold expression, she swung her arm and slapped each of the four animals hanging helplessly before her.
Afterward, as she picked up the phone that had been thrown aside, she said to Li Xingye, "Thank you for saving us."
When Liu Dali saw what was happening, he knew instantly that Chi Wan was responsible. For a moment, his rage overwhelmed his fear. He spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva and snarled, "If you want to live, let us go now. Otherwise, I'll make you pay sooner or later! Chi Yuanshan, you have the guts to kill me?
"If you can't kill me, I'll fucking kill you eventually!"
At that, Chi Yuanshan said nothing. His normally gentle expression turned utterly grim as he rushed up to Liu Dali and slammed a fist into his face!
A father's fist, fueled by rage and residual terror, was nothing like a young girl's slap.
Liu Dali, still yelling, was instantly silenced by the blow. He seemed dazed, belatedly spitting out two teeth.
The other men, seeing this, also snapped out of their terror and began to struggle.
But Chi Yuanshan, who had never lost his temper in front of Chi Wan before, was far from finished. He began to punch and kick the men, who were trussed up like pigs for slaughter, roaring hoarsely, "Liu Dali, you fucker, come at me! Who gave you the right to touch my daughter?! I'll kill you all today!!"
Startled, Chi Wan rushed to grab her father's arm. His eyes were completely bloodshot. "Dad, Dad! Calm down! I'm okay, see? Let's leave the rest to the police."
'Maybe it's because of the superpower, but ever since Li Xingye catalyzed the Fragrant Vine, we can talk directly without me having to enter the space.'
Li Xingye finally relaxed upon hearing Chi Wan's voice. "As long as you're okay."
'He was incredibly relieved that his superpower could reach across the space. Otherwise, all he could have done was listen helplessly as Chi Wan faced danger.'
Chi Wan looked at the four men tied up in the vines and asked Li Xingye, "How long can these vines hold them?"
Li Xingye chuckled. "They can last as long as you want them to."
'Although my power is greatly diminished after crossing through space—I can probably only exert the strength of a Second or Third-rank Superpower User—it's more than enough for Chi Wan, who lives in a peaceful era.'
Reassured, Chi Wan had Li Xingye control the vines to lay the four men flat on the road, then immediately used her phone to call the police.
Once Li Xingye heard Chi Wan reporting it to the police, he said no more, confident that she could handle it from here.
While they waited for the police to arrive, Chi Yuanshan finally calmed down from his rage. Trembling with residual fear, he pulled Chi Wan into a tight hug.
After carefully checking her from head to toe and confirming she was unharmed, he said guiltily, "Wanwan, this is all my fault! If I had just gotten here sooner…"
The thought of his precious daughter facing this pack of animals all alone, and how terrified she must have been, made Chi Yuanshan's heart ache, and his eyes reddened again. He couldn't resist giving each of the men another kick.
Chi Wan smiled and linked her arm with her father's. "Dad, it's really okay. The outcome would've been the same no matter when you arrived. In fact, it's good you were a little late—you took fewer punches, right?"
Hearing her words, Chi Yuanshan belatedly realized that these magical vines were probably his daughter's doing.
Although he didn't know how she had done it, Chi Yuanshan knew it wasn't the right time to ask, not in front of Liu Dali and his men. 'My daughter is all grown up; it's natural for her to have her own secrets.' But the fact that he hadn't been able to help and had instead been rescued by her made Chi Yuanshan feel utterly useless.
Chi Wan was also relieved that her father didn't ask about the vines, since she had no idea how to explain it all anyway.
Still, she quietly coordinated her story with Chi Yuanshan. Otherwise, there would be no scientific explanation for how four men were taken down by a bunch of vines.
After a short wait, a police car from the local station arrived.
The moment the police car came into view, the thick vines that bound the men began to recede, leaving only restraints around their hands and feet. The receding leaves and stems withered instantly, turning to ash and blending into the soil.
Because Chi Wan had reported four criminal suspects, five police officers had arrived in the car.
But when they saw the four burly men groaning on the ground and, next to them, the seemingly unharmed Chi Wan and Chi Yuanshan, the officers couldn't help but exchange confused glances, unsure who the actual victims were.
