The dining hall was spacious, bright, and tidy, not much different in style from those in the mortal realm.
Several attendants in short blue tunics bustled about, bringing out freshly cooked dishes and arranging them in a long row. It was a self-serve setup, much like a buffet.
The youths were starving and flocked to the counter to get food.
Zhao Lin was a bit hungry himself. He glanced around and saw that noodles were available. Recalling it had been a long time since he'd eaten any, he asked an attendant for a large basin for his noodles, then grabbed a massive bowl for the sauce.
As he walked back with the sauce, a boy whose name he didn't know saw the massive bowl in Zhao Lin's hand and exclaimed in shock, "Senior Brother, you're eating a bowl *that* big?!"
Zhao Lin glanced down and explained, "This is the sauce. The noodles are over there."
He said, gesturing toward his seat.
