"Irving," Ivy Holden sighed heavily. "Dess's situation today was enough. I don't want a second person to get caught in my mess."
"What are you talking about? The entire company is depending on you to provide for them! It's only right that we go through the hard times together!"
"Irving! That's enough." Ivy didn't want to argue about it anymore. "That settles it," she said before hanging up.
Sleep wouldn't come. After lying in bed for a while, Ivy got up and placed her laptop on the vanity. She intended to get some work done, but her gaze drifted to her jewelry box.
She opened it and took out two necklace boxes that were sitting side-by-side inside.
One was the necklace her mother had left her, and the other was the one Jensen Morrison had custom-designed.
She'd had a packed schedule recently, always rushing from place to place. Ivy was afraid of misplacing them, so she hadn't worn either necklace.
