That evening, Ivy Holden took the dozens of employees from Trion to a company dinner at a Chinese restaurant under the Morrison Group.
To make it easier for everyone to chat and have fun, Jensen Morrison personally arranged for a private courtyard.
The north building and its east and west wings were set up with four large banquet tables. Everyone sat with their respective departments, then took turns visiting other tables to offer toasts, making for a convenient and lively atmosphere.
At first, everyone was a bit reserved and formal, but it didn't take long for things to liven up. A barbecue grill was set up in the courtyard, and marinated lamb chops were put on the rack. A young Vexli man from the Northwest took sole charge of grilling the lamb.
"Smells amazing!" The aroma of grilled meat was too much for Ivy Holden; she couldn't sit still. She put down her chopsticks and ran outside.
"Is it done yet? Is it done?" Ivy asked, sidling up to the young man.
