"It's been over two hours," Yao Li gasped, struggling to breathe.
After her spinal nerves were severed, she didn't just lose control of her body; even breathing became incredibly difficult.
Sun Lingchen frowned upon hearing this. "That long?"
"There was nothing I could do. He severed my nerves, then knocked out the driver. I could only contact you after the driver woke up," Yao Li said helplessly.
"Which way did he go?" Sun Lingchen asked after a moment of silence.
"East. He went east." Yao Li was certain of this because she had been listening carefully to the sounds outside the whole time.
'East... Looks like he's headed for the docks,' Sun Lingchen mused to himself.
Yao Li struggled to lift her eyes, a flicker of surprise in her heart.
She never would have imagined that the family would actually have Sun Lingchen lead the capture team personally.
Although she was technically Sun Lingchen's senior, Yao Li knew his status within the Sun family all too well.
