After some consideration, Isaac laid out the gist of his plan. Of course, he omitted the part about his Golden Finger and heavily emphasized the section about befriending Deities.
Sure enough, after hearing Isaac's plan, Evans was still shocked but found himself able to accept at least some of it. He particularly approved of the part about befriending the Deities; that seemed far more plausible than controlling them.
So, after a moment of thought, Evans nodded, reluctantly extended his right hand, and shook Isaac's.
Isaac broke into a satisfied smile at the sight. But as Evans looked at that smile, the little bit of confidence that had just begun to swell within him suddenly evaporated...
'Did I just... seem to... probably... possibly... fall into a giant pit?'
Evans's mouth twitched. But it was too late now; there was no turning back. And if he were honest with himself, Isaac's plan was actually highly feasible—both for saving the Norwegian people and for the God Creation.
