The Emperor sighed helplessly and had no choice but to ask, "Are you planning on taking her with you?"
Hu Yan nodded slightly. "Yes. I'd worry if I left her behind. It's better to bring her with me."
Empress Leia's earlier unease vanished, replaced by a kind expression. "That's wonderful, just wonderful. That young female seems very nice. You'd better not mistreat her."
Then, Empress Leia resumed her majestic air as the Empress. "Alright, it's time for us to head back. We won't disturb you any longer."
Hu Yan said, "Farewell, Father Emperor, Mother Empress."
When Hu Yan returned, Bai Zhi tilted her head, glancing in the direction the couple had gone. "Who were they?" she asked curiously. "They seemed a little strange."
Hu Yan didn't tell her the truth. "It's nothing," he said simply. "They're gone now."
He worried that telling her would only make her nervous, so he decided it was better to say nothing.
Hu Yan said, "Let's go."
