But she showed no fear, her tone nonchalant. "I just think that as the CEO, I need to understand the Sterling Group's financial situation. Forget five years; it would be perfectly reasonable for me to demand ten years of records."
This made Colin Sterling even angrier.
"Don't go looking for trouble. This is pointless and a waste of time. Besides, it's impossible to reconcile all the financial details from the last five years now."
His obviously guilty demeanor made Aria Sterling laugh inwardly.
"I just want to take a look. Why are you in such a hurry, Uncle? Are you afraid I'll see something I shouldn't?" She stared at him, her probing gaze striking a flicker of fear deep in Colin Sterling's heart.
But the fear lasted only a moment before he put on a brave front again. "What do I have to be afraid of? I just don't think you need to make such a big fuss. I've made up my mind. You can look at this year's financial reports and recent projects, but stay out of the old ones!"
