The disciple had just forced back a cultist in front of him when he heard the air whistle behind him. His face fell. As he whipped his head around, he saw the glint of a blade hacking down at his head.
"This is the end for me!"
The disciple's face turned deathly pale, a look of despair washing over him. His True Essence surged madly as he tried to escape, but the enemy's blade was too fast. It was already too late.
Just as he was about to be slain, a faint SWOOSH cut through the air. Before the savage-faced cultist could even react, his head suddenly exploded with a POP!
Blood sprayed across the disciple's face. The enemy's body stiffened for a moment before the headless torso collapsed.
The disciple froze for a moment, then hastily turned his head to see Qin Fang flicking several more stones, taking down a few more cultists.
"Senior Brother Qin!"
He immediately understood who had saved him.
"Thank you, Senior Brother!"
He hastily cupped his hands in thanks.
