Jiang Yixia's hands paused. She turned to glare at him, her face flushing. "What are you talking about!"
Lu Fan put on an innocent look and spread his hands. "I said I was watching you put the noodles in. What did you *think* I meant? What's going through that head of yours all day?"
Jiang Yixia ignored him. She dropped the noodles into the pot and stirred them with her chopsticks. Her ears were as red as cooked shrimp, and even her neck began to flush pink.
Lu Fan leaned against the doorframe, watching her work.
The flame on the stove danced, and the water in the pot churned. Steam fogged up the window, shrouding the entire kitchen in a white mist.
In the light, her profile was soft. She had long eyelashes, a straight nose, and her lips were slightly pursed.
"Yixia," he called out suddenly, his voice soft.
"What?"
"You're really beautiful like this."
Jiang Yixia's hands stilled again. She didn't turn around, but the tips of her ears turned an even deeper shade of red.
