The Ye family Residence.
Four months later.
"Our time has come." Shen Xiatang said as Ye Shin Ye stepped into the family hall in a pure white gown with wide sleeves embroidered at the hem with blue floral vines, a blue mantle and a blue headpiece.
"Grandmother," Ye Shin Ye said with her hands in front of her face in a standing bow.
"Father" Ye Shin Ye said as she repeated the same motion before.
"Mother." Ye Shin Ye said as she bit the inside of her cheek as she repeated the motion for the third time.
"Ye Shin Ye thanks grandmother for her benevolence in bringing me back." Ye Shin Ye said politely as her hands came back to her side but her grandmother scoffed.
"Thank your sister Ye Shin Ah." The old madam said as she looked at her with disgust.
"Without your sister's constant pleading, I will never have brought you back so soon." The old woman said in a brash tone but Ye Shin Ye's remained the same like her words meant nothing.
"Vicious girl," Ye Shin Ye's father said as he pointed to Ye Shin Ye.
"Now that the old madam has shown mercy to you by bringing you back, you better not harbor any evil ideas of tormenting your sister." Ye Shin Ye's father said as he stamped his hand on the table he before him.
"Husband," Ye Shin Ye's step mother said as she moved closer to Ye Shin Ye's father on the seat they shared and placed her hand on his shoulder.
"She is only a child." Ye Shin Ye's step mother said with a sly smile.
"I am sure her time in the monastery showed her the error of her ways, isn't that right daughter?" Ye Shin Ye's step mother said with a grin and Ye Shin Ye bit the inside of her cheek until she tasted blood.
"Yes, mother." Ye Shin Ye said, as she said the word mother with gritted teeth.
"Ye Shin Ye has learned the errors of her ways and vows never to repeat them." Ye Shin Ye said with a standing bow before turning her attention to her younger sister who was beside her grandmothe
"Ye Shin Ye thanks little sister for pleading my case to grandmother." Ye Shin Ye said with a smile to Ye Shin Ah.
"Ye Shin Ye will surely make sure to repay you for this favor." Ye Shin Ye said with a smile and everyone looked at her like she had grown two heads.
"What's going on?" Ye Shin Ah thought in confusion.
"Is she really my sister?" Ye Shin Ah thought as she stared at Ye Shin Ye's calm face.
Shaking out of reverie, Ye Shin Ah quickly said "It's the least I can do." before running and looping her arm into Ye Shin Ah's arm.
"We are sisters after all." Ye Shin Ah said with a smile.
"It's always good to get along." Ye Shin Ah said and the old madam nodded her head.
"Now that you are back home, I better not hear of you stirring trouble." the old madam warned Ye Shin Ye for the second time.
"Sister definitely wouldn't." Ye Shin Ah said before Ye Shin Ye could speak.
"I trust that she has come back a changed person." Ye Shin Ah said as she waited for Ye Shin Ye to blow up and declare her innocence but not only did Ye Shin Ye not respond to her provocation but Ye Shin Ye also bowed a standing bow to her grandmother and said "Sister is right, Ye Shin Ye has learnt the error of her ways and has genuinely come back as a changed person." in a polite tone.
"What's going on?" Ye Shin Ah thought for the second time.
"Since when does she agree with me?" Ye Shin Ah thought as she scanned Ye Shin Ye with her eyes to see if the one before her was an imposter.
"You can go." the old madam commanded Ye Shin Ye who bowed again before swiftly leaving the family hall.
After Ye Shin Ye left, Ye Shin Ye's father and step mother excused themselves from the family hall and when the old madam and Ye Shin Ah were the only ones left, Ye Shin Ah voiced the thoughts that were troubling her to her grandmother.
"Grandmother," Ye Shin Ah said as she went back to her grandmother's side.
"Don't you think that there is something wrong with big sister?" Ye Shin Ah said, referring to Ye Shin Ye's complete 180.
Scoffing the old madam said " I am sure she is acting so tame because the monastery wasn't good to her." with a mischievous smile.
"I heard that the steward there is especially strict so I am sure that she managed to knock some sense into her." the old madam said as she patted Ye Shin Ah's hand that were in hers.
"After everything she has faced I am sure that she won't have the gall to mess with you." The old madam said with a grin.
"Right, it's because of the steward she is acting like this." Ye Shin Ah thought in her mind.
"What exactly am I afraid of?" Ye Shin Ah thought as she shook her head
"You are always so good to me Grandmother." Ye Shin Ah said with a smile as she began to massage her grandmother's shoulders.
