Shirley Thorne had no idea that a new conspiracy targeting her was brewing.
Audrey Osborne had intercepted some of Meredith Rowan's messages, but only managed to catch a few scattered, unimportant words. She hadn't been able to piece together their plot.
However, this didn't stop Ethan Grant from being extremely concerned for Shirley Thorne's safety. He simply believed Uncle Grant to be so vicious and depraved that he was capable of anything, so he had already raised Shirley's security level significantly.
Shirley Thorne thought Ethan Grant was being a bit dramatic. She wasn't going out or getting lost in crowds; she was home all day. Besides Susan Langley, no one bore her any ill will.
"You can never be too careful."
Ethan Grant didn't think he was overreacting.

Shirley Thorne blushed a little. It felt so good to know he cared this much.
