When a candidate has entered a Temperance Shrine, there emotional tensity must be maintained at its peak and their focus even sharper then their feelings. Because if not then, the wrath of those whose powers they seek will die to and become part swiftly so.
In the shrine there are two people who are solely allowed in there accept for the candidates. Which are; the tribal king/chief and tribal priest/priestess.
The reason for this is that long ago in the Medayn Era,'The Era of Emotional Peak' as referred to in the legends told by the old folk. Is because when the first Emolits as known as the Lowesian Semi-Deities emerged the world experienced six calamities known as the Six Great Calamities. Namely they are: The Calamity of the Great Ocean Lake, The Calamity of the Radiance Pillar, The Calamity of Affectional Sacrfice, The Calamity of the Final Laughter, The Calamity of the Apathetical Bloodshed and The Calamity of the Piercing Darkness.
During that time Lowesia bore over 2 billion people that lived across it. They were scattered, distinct into the two ethnic groups that existed in peace and independently before. Well, at least before that event occurred as they were unknowingly and forcefully cut down into tribes. Tribes that were formed by those who choose to follow the first Six Emolits. Namely; Duba Kakera, Shinrah Fortclovia, Gasha Shoshwa, Yupak Chigwe, Skarra Osho and Flora Namute.
These six individuals awakened at a time when Lowesia knew but peace all before fate forcefully struck at a place that should've never been vulnerable to it with this event. And not long after the event if Six Great Calamities which took the lives of over 1.3 billion lives. The people who remained decided not to retaliate, not to hide, not to die to to their own stupid ideas of rebellion. But- they followed. Followed even most were killed in the process. And soon after swaying and persuading the the six unto becoming their rulers, they created many things and gifted bountiful harvests and gifts to as well. They built kingdoms. They ploughed hundreds and thousands of crops for them and raised hundreds of livestock to feast on. They made what they told to make. And did as they were commanded. The six who really more indifferent to these things never truly found interest in all the benefits they had now rather than before. They were pleased but bored. Comfortable yet restless. Filled with the richness that was given to them and yet it couldn't filled the hole in theor hearts. Holes that were foreign to them and their bodies. And so they thought? When was the last time I felt like this?
And the answer came faster than their wary questions. And it was before. Before they had these powers. Before they felt these powers and the leisures, they granted upon each and every last one of them. And yet when they stopped all the killing because of actual exhaustion not mental willingness they thought that a taste of the high life would grant even more of these leisures, well, all except the one that danced with them in the chaos they each bloomed. This feeling was much similar and common to one much like the emotions one feels every day and experiences both consciously and unconsciously.
This sensation flows through us all and yet its seen as nothing more than a jump start into anything.
This sensation, this feeling its called- rush.
A rush for what? Anything but always specific fir the situation one is in. Whether one's sad, or fighting, or affectionately embracing one that tingle that jump start. Its all but simply a rush. Not matter what one may define it as not matter what they defined as. It was all but a simple rush.
And so what about it? Well, they simply missed it. The rush that flashed and spiked through their veins through their very beings once- they longed for. But what could they do? For they knew if they went on rampages once more there'd be nothing much left. Of the Lowesians nor the beasts that roamed about. And so, one day they met up.
Ans as if like old friends discussed on how they could make things fun again. And after a bit if thinking, Shinrah suggested something that was so obvious and tremendously brilliant that any if them in the right mind could've thought of doing that as well. And so they made a decision that was rather much more of Shinrah's suggestion that changed everything and started off the true beginning if the Medayn Era, which has many names to it. One of them being, the Era of Controversial Change. Why?
Well, because where as there was true change of the Six's attitude towards their followers, there was also constant alert and cautious ness that lucked about constantly as they each of the six studied and grinned their own ways if elevating Shinrah's idea and bringing it to life as their own independent ideologies.
But alas not until two centuries later, did they decide to meet again and when they dud they were rancorous and brief in their detailed explanations in their struggles. And so did Shinrah who- once again had a brilliant idea that just simply saved all the time that this world blatantly offered.
And this idea suggested a unification, of their powers and their ideologies and these soon came together after a week of thinking and suggesting.
They finally came up with something that got everything really really started. And what was this you may ask? There's no sugar coating to this answer as it has been presented to us more times than the story has suggested. And this was-
The Rite of Chord Bondage.
