A flash of red light—horse-girl Gaia made her grand entrance.

Back at the warehouse door, Gaia found it locked with a thick iron chain—about as thick as an adult's forearm. That only strengthened her suspicion.

"I'll… be back…" the horse girl growled, struggling weakly in Tazuna's iron grip—a low, chilling threat.

Tazuna tapped the horse girl lightly on the head. The perfectly judged force knocked her out cold—so the trainer very conveniently "didn't hear" what she'd just said.
"Sometimes, there are… less rational girls who do something extreme," Tazuna said with a helpless smile, as if this sort of incident wasn't exactly rare.
"Gaia, and you as well—Trainer—please don't speak of this. It would reflect poorly on Central Tracen Academy. As for this child, we'll have a psychologist counsel her."
"Please rest assured."
"I always thought 'a trainee attacking a trainer' was just a legend…" The young trainer wiped cold sweat from his body, still shaken. He was a newcomer with less than two years on the job. He'd heard rumors before—but whenever he tried to ask senior trainers for details, they always brushed him off with excuses.

Rudolf poured two cups of black tea and handed one to him. The reddish-brown surface faintly reflected her curious expression.
"I didn't expect you to choose Oguri Cap as your third trainee," Rudolf said after a sip. "Everyone says ash-gray horse girls can't run fast. It seems you, like me, don't really believe such rumors."
Come to think of it, both Tamamo Cross and Oguri Cap were ash-gray. Did Trainer Gamu have a special preference for ash-gray horse girls?
Studying Takayama Gamu as he tried to cool his tea by blowing on it, Rudolf nodded slightly to herself.
