Chapter 3 - Blasted

'Kuzuki' walked past the students. His expression was stoic. His movements resembled the real Kuzuki to a T.

Students passing me by did not seem to notice anything amiss. Then again... them finding anything would have been the real irregularity.

I acted uncannily similar to the real Kuzuki. My [Ultimate Imposter] talent left almost no flaws in my act.

Ignoring others, I walked into Kuzuki's lounge. I had intended to hypnotise the real Kuzuki to make him spill everything I wanted with the [Ultimate Hypnotist] talent.

But. Kuzuki had not yet found the time to go through those files. They were apparently delivered just this morning and were kept in his lounge.

So... I had to come all the way here to go through those files myself.

I thought as I walked into Kuzuki's lounge. The lounge was simple, with a small desk and a comfy chair, with the student files resting on the desk.

Without wasting time, I sat in the chair and quickly flipped through the files.

My [Ultimate Analyst] talent took exactly 14.43 seconds to analyse the student files of all the students in Homurahara Academy.

[Ultimate Precognition], [Ultimate Detective] and [Ultimate Analyst] talents worked in tandem to deduce the choices, courses of lives and even the moment of death of all students across the academy.

However... There were some anomalies among them whose future I could not predict to a perfect 100%. These students had a connection to something 'unknown' outside my current well of knowledge.

They were;

Matou Shinji.

Matou Sakura.

Rin Tohsaka.

And Shirou Emiya.

The Matou siblings came from an ancient family which had existed in Fuyuki for ages.

Rin Tohsaka came from the Tohsaka family, which was also as old as the Matou family.

And Shirou Emiya... that boy helped anyone and everyone selflessly. Which, in and of itself, was a huge problem. No human being is purely selfless, because the very nature of humanity is selfishness.

So how could a boy be evaluated as someone who helps anyone in need selflessly?

My [Ultimate Psychologist] talent deduced the current state of mind of Shirou Emiya in moments.

Shirou was apparently helping others because his mind had been warped by a very deep trauma. Something similar to facing my [Ultimate Despair].

I did not know which trauma Shirou Emiya suffered through and when.

But... anything which could have a similar effect to my [Ultimate Despair] was worth looking into.

My thoughts concluded.

...

..

.

I walked out of Kuzuki's lounge a moment later. My disguise as Kuzuki already dissolved away.

The next course of action now was to keep an eye on these students and scout the whole Fuyuki city for any more anomalies.

The question now was... Which should be the first on my agenda? Keeping an eye on these anomalies inside Homurahara Academy? or scouting Fuyuki?

My [Ultimate Analyst] and [Ultimate Detective] talents pointed out that keeping an eye on these anomalies first was the logically sound choice.

Yet... My [Ultimate Precognition] talent pointed me towards another one of my Ultimate talents.

The [Ultimate Clairvoyant].

The original talent of Yasuhiro Hagakure from Hope's Peak. A talent which allowed him to predict the future with a 30% chance of success.

My version was a little better than Hagakure's. Giving me a 50% chance of success.

I closed my eyes. My mind going in a trance-like state. In that trance, I subconsciously took out an eraser from my pocket and flicked it towards the map of Fuyuki stapled on a notice board nearby.

My eyes snapped open as the eraser collided with Ryuudou Temple on the Fuyuki map and bounced off the board.

...It's decided. Ryuudou Temple it is.

I concluded. Resolving myself to scout the Ryuudou Temple first.

...

..

.

20 minutes later.

Ryuudou Temple.

Isn't this the place where Kuzuki lives?

I wondered while walking up the stairs leading up towards the Ryuudou Temple.

Yes... I had ditched the school. What could they even teach me? It would've made more sense if they made me a teacher there instead of a student.

Anyway...

My [Ultimate Analyst] talent worked to analyse everything in my surroundings.

My [Ultimate Detective] talent refused to be left behind. Deductions of my surroundings running frantically in my mind.

My [Ultimate Precognition] talent rang silent warning bells from the background.

I could feel it...

Now that I was close.

I could feel... something uncannily similar to my own [Ultimate Despair] saturating everything, the ground, the air and every inch of matter the closer I got to Ryuudou Temple.

Most people wouldn't even be able to notice it. The only reason I was able to perceive it was because my Ultimates were working in tandem with each other, pushing my senses beyond the impossible.

The warnings from [Ultimate Precognition] were getting louder as I climbed even closer to Ryuudou Temple.

Ryuudou Temple's stairs ended just ten steps ahead.

However...

Someone was already standing at the very top of the stairs.

A golden-haired man, wearing a biker's black leather jacket and pants. He was looking down at me... with disdain?

This was a new experience. People always worshipped me like a god. So being looked at with disdain was new... even for me.

"What are you spacing out for, mongrel? Ignoring this king is a grave offense punishable by death." The golden-haired man spoke. His nose pointed to the sky as he looked down at me from above literally and figuratively.

I brought my full focus onto him now. But... the moment I looked at him.

[Ultimate Analyst] went haywire. Like trying to grasp and analyse something ethereal.

[Ultimate Detective] went quiet. How could it deduce when there was no information revealed by analysing him?

[Ultimate Precognition] screeched desperate warnings in my mind.

This golden-haired man was a literal glitch in reality. A black hole in my awareness and perception.

But... how?

Interest slowly started to glow deep inside my blank eyes. This was something unknown... Something which was not boring.

"I don't like your current expression, mongrel. Whenever you see this king... You should look up while... kneeling." The golden man spoke. His voice final. His declaration arrogant to the extreme.

His words were followed by a sky-turning pressure. Collapsing straight over my shoulders.

My knees were jerked down by the sudden force.

His words registered a moment later in my ears.

He... wanted me to kneel?

Interesting! Interesting!

The embers of interest in my blank crimson eyes blazed like never before.

[Ultimate Despair] boomed to life. My presence climbing higher with abandon. Bloodlust, enough to drown mountains in blood, rose up from within me.

My knees straightened quite casually. My presence colliding brutally against his. Offsetting the pressure released by the golden-haired man.

The stairs of Ryuudou Temple were further split in two portions in moments. Half drowning in blood red of [Ultimate Despair]. The other half alight with a golden pressure.

I looked into his eyes with apathy. He looked into my eyes with increasing disdain.

"Mongrel... I wanted to play with you a bit more. But, I don't like insects gazing at me with that gaze. So... You can be on your way." The golden-haired man spoke a moment later.

My [Ultimate Precognition] blared without regard for anything for the first time in my life as the golden-haired man pulled his hand back.

A golden portal materialised beside him as he dipped his hand inside and pulled a spiraled sword from inside.

!

What?

[Ultimate Precognition] roared in warning. [Ultimate Analyst] failed to analyse anything about that sword.

[Ultimate Detective]...

[Ultimate Assassin]...

[Ultimate Soldier]...

[Ultimate Fiend]...

All these talents went silent.

While all these talents were quiet, a single talent roared to life.

The [Ultimate Anthropologist].

It dissected the sword.

Its structure. Its spirals. Its handle.

My mind reached a conclusion in 1.56 seconds.

Is that...?

"Be honored mongrel. Since this king is sending you on your way with the prototype of all Holy Swords. This is..." The golden menace spoke. His nose pointed so high that it looked like the beak of a crow.

Caladbolg.

"Caladbolg."

The biker threw the sword towards me.

I didn't have time to react before—

BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
