Chapter 477 - 477

The elevator doors slowly opened.

Javier, who had intended to rush out quickly, suddenly stopped in his tracks because as soon as the doors cracked open a tiny sliver, a pungent stench of blood immediately wafted in. This instantly made Javier realize that something was wrong.

Sure enough, when the doors were fully open, the hotel corridor was covered in bloodstains. Numerous bodyguards' corpses lay scattered across the floor, most of their skin and muscle gnawed clean, revealing grim white bones. Crimson blood was splattered radially across the pristine white walls, reaching almost every corner.

It was a scene of absolute slaughter.

Even many of the hotel room walls had been smashed with several holes, looking as if they had been ravaged by some fierce beast.

"..."

"What happened here?"

Looking at the deathly silent hotel corridor before them, Javier and the other two were stunned. They hadn't expected someone to find Simmons' hiding spot even faster than they did.

But this scale of destruction

didn't seem man-made; it looked more like an invasion by bio-organic monsters. However, this was the top floor, 16F—where could c-virus monsters have come from to charge up here?

"Wait..."

"Let me check if Simmons is still in this hotel building..."

Looking at the bloody corridor, Javier and the others were very confused by the situation, but Ada seemed to have thought of something.

She quickly took out her cubic smart device and tapped it a few times. A map rapidly appeared on the blue holographic projection.

Simmons' location

was clearly shown in a hotel room on this floor, specifically Room 1605, five doors ahead. This was Simmons' laptop.

This indicated only two possibilities:

First, Simmons was either dead or had fled, leaving his laptop behind. Second, he was still hiding in the room inside, shivering with fear.

"..."

"There's no point in guessing blindly here. We'll know once we go look,"

Javier said decisively, looking at the holographic map in Ada's hand. Whether Simmons was still there would be clear once they checked.

The three didn't hesitate much

and arrived directly in front of Room 1605. Seeing the room door intact, Javier felt it was more likely that Simmons was still inside.

Therefore, he took a High-explosive grenade from his waist and placed it at the door. He pulled the pin, chose to detonate it immediately, and then quickly retreated to take cover.

Bang—!

Boom—!!!

A loud explosion rang out.

The terrifying blast impacted the entire room door. Although it had a coded lock, the door frame was made of just a few pieces of metal and wood.

It couldn't possibly withstand such terrifying force. In almost an instant, the entire door was blown to pieces, and the remains collapsed onto the floor.

The sofa and wardrobe used to barricade the door from behind were immediately exposed to Javier and the others. Seeing this,

Javier became even more certain that Simmons was still hiding there.

After all, if he had really run away, why would he go to the trouble of blocking the door? Moreover, the inside of the room hadn't been damaged at all.

"..."

"He's still hiding inside. It seems he really is as cowardly as a mouse, blocking the door with so many things."

Observing the situation,

Ada gave a cold, mocking laugh. She then focused her gaze on the bathroom in the room; its door was tightly shut.

Without a doubt,

the most likely place for Simmons to be hiding was inside. Easily moving the sofa and wardrobe aside, Ada drew her handgun and walked quickly toward the bathroom.

Clack, clack, clack...

The sound of her high-heeled leather boots was exceptionally crisp,

but to Simmons, who was hiding inside, it was no different from the sound of a death knell as he broke into a cold sweat. The blast of the High-explosive grenade

had made Simmons instinctively believe that a group of c-virus mutants had broken in. He was now extremely panicked.

The footsteps grew closer and closer.

Driven to desperation, Simmons decisively pulled out his self-defense handgun. Along with his personal bodyguard hiding inside, he attempted to launch a preemptive ambush just as Ada was about to reach the bathroom door.

Click...!

The bathroom door was suddenly thrown open.

The arrogant eyes of Simmons, who was hiding behind his personal bodyguard, suddenly turned fierce. Without any hesitation in his movements,

he directly kicked the personal bodyguard in front of him, sending him flying out.

As the saying goes, 'better you die than I.' Simmons hoped his personal bodyguard could buy him a little more time, allowing him the chance to escape from the side.

"..."

"You can die with honor...!"

Having kicked his bodyguard's back, the moment the door opened, an expression of intense excitement appeared on Simmons' old face,

as if his scheme had succeeded. He quickly clutched a handgun and scurried out from the side, intending to run toward the room's entrance at top speed.

But unfortunately,

he had guessed wrong. There were no c-virus mutant monsters outside.

There were only three living humans: Ada with a surprised look, Javier watching coldly, and Sherry specifically guarding the door.

Bang—!!!

Before he could even react,

Ada, who was at the front, was the first to strike. Seeing the white bodyguard lunging toward her, Ada showed no mercy.

She delivered a fierce upward kick, performing a perfect vertical split. Her right foot rose directly above her head, and the hard sole of her high-heeled boot precisely struck the white bodyguard's chin.

With a dull thud,

the white bodyguard's vision went black. His head spun, and he tumbled directly to the side. After a kick like that to the chin, it would be hard not to lose consciousness.

As for the escaping Simmons,

Ada didn't have the chance to stop him, and Javier ignored him as well. Instead, it was Sherry, blocking the door, who drew a stun baton from her lower back with a savage grin.

Her smile was somewhat eerie.

For some reason, even though this was their first meeting,

Sherry felt that the Simmons before her was very familiar. It wasn't the familiarity of an acquaintance, but that of a villain—as if an evil man who often bullied her had suddenly appeared before her eyes.

After all, there was no helping it;

in the original plot,

Simmons was the culprit behind Sherry's mistreatment. After Leon and Claire refused to adopt Sherry and handed her over to the US Government,

Sherry's nightmare began. Leon and Claire thought the US Government would treat the poor little girl well,

but in fact, the US Government was more interested in the G-Virus in Sherry's body. Driven by profit and manipulated by Simmons, a high-ranking American security advisor,

Sherry did not get a normal life like other orphans. Instead, she was imprisoned.

She returned to the enclosed laboratory she hated most. She had to eat and sleep in a lab room that was no better than a cage, under constant surveillance.

Every day, a group of researchers in white coats would draw blood samples from Sherry for study. It was because of the blood and G-Virus samples in Sherry's body

that Simmons had the foundation to research the c-virus. This kind of life only improved once Sherry reached adulthood.

In her twenties,

Sherry completely lost her usefulness for research.

Simmons bailed her out under the guise of her serving as an FBI agent. To squeeze every bit of use out of Sherry,

Simmons had Sherry carry out various investigative missions for him.

Sherry herself was completely unaware, even feeling secretly proud of becoming an agent and diligently carrying out every task.

It wasn't until Simmons' true face was later exposed

that Sherry realized she was the foolish girl who had been sold and was still helping the seller count the money. So, how could Sherry not hate Simmons?

Thus, without any hesitation,

she pressed the current button on the stun baton. The baton immediately crackled, and azure electricity surged.

Just as Simmons, with a fierce expression,

charged toward Sherry with his handgun,

Sherry directly thrust the stun baton into Simmons' kidney. It was almost the exact same move she used against Jake—fast, accurate, and ruthless, giving him no time to react.

Zzzzt...!!!

"Eeegh..."

The current surged,

and a wave of numbness spread through his entire body. Simmons couldn't stop shaking, his whole body convulsing wildly. He soon collapsed face-first onto the floor, his body continuing to quiver even after it ended,

as if he were having an epileptic fit.

This was the power of a stun baton—one of the preferred weapons for girls to deal with creeps when out and about.

Of course...

remember that stun batons are ineffective against Black people like Blake.

After all, in America, Black blood has already developed an immunity to tasers. Many Black people can run away without a care after being shot by a taser;

it's nowhere near as effective as a lead bullet.

But unfortunately... Simmons was of genuine white aristocratic blood,

so he couldn't produce any magic resistance. If he could have temporarily swapped his skin and bloodline, he might have actually been able to run away from Sherry's taser.

Volume 9 Resident Evil 6: Chapter 44 Compound Eye Demon Squad

Simmons was taken down by Sherry with the stun baton.

This was hardly a surprise. After all, Javier had the girl guard the door specifically so she could take the opportunity to teach this scum Simmons a lesson.

And Simmons was also quite pitiable, in a way.

Although he was indeed a piece of scum, the number of times he had been tormented recently was simply too frequent.

Javier even felt a bit of sorrow for this man. Of all the people to provoke, you had to provoke a group of protagonists; you've really suffered a great ordeal.

Inside the bathroom,

Ada also found the laptop that had been hacked and tracked. It contained a vast amount of criminal evidence.

As long as it was handed over,

then Simmons' life would be over, and the Family Organization behind him would be pulled up by the roots as well.

After all, the US Government itself didn't want to be controlled by a group of secret organizations,

including the incoming President of the United States, who surely wouldn't want to follow in the footsteps of the previous president, Adam Benford...

However,

just when Javier and the others thought the matter was about to draw to a temporary close,

Carla, who also had designs on Simmons, had slowly arrived at this hotel building. The only difference was that she had come with her subordinates.

Buzz, buzz, buzz...
