"Like the ones who helped the heroes in our stories!!!" Bell's shined with a ruby glimmer.
"You have magic, right, right! Really strong magic right!!" Zaria said standing up on the bench and leaning over the table with a big smile, and a yearning within her eyes.
There was a moment of stunned silence before Ceraunius and Gamelia blushed, and hard. While Zeus bellowed with laughter, and Hera giggled, swooning all about.
"We're a little different than the heroes in your stories." Ceraunius started, with a smirk. "We're closer to something called a spirit-human. A cross between spirits and humans. Though, we're a bit above average even for them." He explained with a smirk. "We can show you soon. But after you finish eating. What kind of guides would we be if we allowed you to suffer from malnutrition?" He continued with a warm smile, ruffling Bell's hair.
"That's right, you too Zaria, eat up so you can grow into a strong, and beautiful young woman." Gamelia smiled, making it clear what she meant, ruffling Zaria's hair with a gentle and tender hand.
Both Bell, and Zaria blushed, and started eating… eating as if it was their first task as a hero. A hero fighting a monster, unyielding at the sight!
"Ahahaha!!!" Zeus bellowed. "This is fantastic, the family is almost all back together again."
"So you sensed the shift too?" Hera asked, putting more and more food on Bell, and Zaria's plates.
"What do you take me for, Hera? I'm Zeus, of course I'd sense a monumental shift like that." Zeus huffed.
"Hmm?" Ceraunius hummed curiously, attempting to sense something for himself.
"Hmmm?" Gamelia did the same.
Their eyes were darting all over the place, searching for even the slightest cue. Then they cycled through their other senses, including the 6th, and even 7th one that only Spirits had. They turned and looked at each other, shrugging.
"Haven't a clue what the two of you are talking about." Ceraunius said, rubbing his chin with an embarrassed chuckle.
"Same here, I didn't sense anything." Gamelia added, tilting her head up and tapping her chin with a curious thought. "Then it must be something we can't sense, even with the 7th one…"
"Well yeah, this time it was directed just to our names, and ours alone." Zeus smirked, and glanced at Ceraunius with a proud expression. "You know what this means, right?"
"That despite having your name, it is ours for as long as we have it, at the very least?" Ceraunius proposed an answer.
"That's right, you've well and truly made the name your own. You've grown up well, both of you."
It didn't take much longer for Bell and Zaria to finish stuffing their faces. Both eagerly wanted to see magic on display. Both forks hit the table at once, each wearing an innocent, and eager smile.
"Magic show?" Gamelia giggled.
"Gamelia take it easy at first, alright? I'm going to show Ceraunius around the village a little."
Gamelia nodded. "Not a problem, I wouldn't want to scare these two darlings with the power I love so much."
And so, the group split, Ceraunius and Zeus left to walk through the village. Leaving the others to their bonding time. The pair walked through the village, talking to everyone they met along the way. They stopped by the village well, and both looked into it.
"How's it looking down there, Cera?"
"You've got about three days left, gramps."
"Yikes, that heatwave really did a number."
"Enough beating around the bush, I get it. Don't worry about it, I can fix this."
"Eh? What do you mean beating around the bush?" Zeus panicked, and started whistling, fiddling with his thumbs trying to shake the allegations off.
Ceraunius just stared at Zeus with a completely straight face… A moment broken by a villager coming over with a bucket.
"Oh, hey there, you're new here…" The man said in an exhausted yet cheerful greeting. "Traveler, visiting family perhaps? Nice to see the old man has someone to help him with those two kids."
"Hmm, traveler… Not entirely inaccurate. I'll be living here for a while but…" Ceraunius said, looking down the well, again. "This place is really not doing so well."
"You can see all the way down there? We've been worried for a while, how bad is it…?"
"Three days left at the most."
The villager shivered, and then sighed. "I suppose I should start prioritizing now…" He looked at his bucket, seemingly contemplating what he would have to absorb so the well doesn't run dry. "This is bad, even if we do everything we can, if we don't get any rain in 5 days… with the couple of ladies with child now…" He grit his teeth. "Hey, old man? You think that man you talked about will help us this time? What was his name again? Ceraunius?"
Ceraunius smirked, and stood to his full height, holding out a hand in greeting, wearing a smile. "Greetings, the name is Ceraunius. Level 7, mage."
The man's eyes widened with shock, and then after a few seconds leaving the giant of a man before him hanging, he reached out to shake his hand, with both of his.
"It's you, sir, the one the old man said could bring us rain. Please sir, bring us the gift of rain."
"I can do this. But not right now. I'm saving it as the final trick in a little magic show to a dearly close relative of mine. Specifically two of them, I can't wait to see the look on their faces. For now, go and spread the news. The weather will bend to my will. Come out to see it for yourself."
It wasn't long before the village square was filled with many people including Hera, Bell, and Zaria.
Zeus chuckled and walked away from Ceraunius, joining Hera, and showing they were clearly a couple. Gamelia walked over to Ceraunius, the two kissing without a care in the world.
"Oh, look! They're in love!!"
"Of course a man like that must be spoken for already."
"She's so beautiful, like a goddess… Huh, now that I think of it, so is the other woman over there… but, somehow more so."
"Oh wow! Mommy, mommy, they're doing what you and daddy do! Do they have babies too!?"
It was more than a magic show, this was an announcement of the two temporarily joining the village. And both of them were making it abundantly clear that they belonged to each other, so to all the men Ceraunius spoke, and to the women Gamelia spoke. Not through words, but through the kiss the couple shared. That message was: "HANDS OFF MY MAN/WOMAN, HE/SHE'S MINE!"
It was a clear message everyone received, loud and clear.
