For a heartbeat, the conference room fell into absolute silence.
No one spoke.

The conference table shook violently beneath his hands as he slammed both palms against its polished surface. The loud crack echoed through the room, startling even the officers stationed near the entrance.
"You miserable bastard!"
His voice thundered through the conference room.
"You dare accuse my son after what your wife did?"
He rounded the table in long, furious strides, every ounce of restraint disappearing from his face.
Gabriel was only a step behind him.
The humiliation of the punch Dante had given him moments earlier no longer mattered. The guilt he felt as a father had already consumed him, but hearing Marcos blame the children was something he simply could not endure.

Marcos refused to retreat.
