Once they finished dividing the profit and deciding their next course of action, they paid the bill and exited the tavern. However, once they exited the private room, they noticed the customers in the hall had decreased compared to when they entered.
They soon found the answer to that question. Once they exited the tavern's main door and walked out to the street, they saw a commotion and an enormous crowd gathered on the main street.
"Do you really think someone caught the Legendary Fish?" a voice echoed in the crowd.
"That's what my friend told me. He even lost 5,000 gold coins in betting, so it must be true."
"I wouldn't blame your friend. Even I would place a bet confidently on that claim, since it's an unprecedented thing."
"Me too. Who wouldn't want to earn easy money on something that seemed impossible?"
The duo soon heard the talk among the crowd about the Legendary Fish. They somewhat knew they had done something extraordinary when the people in the underground cavern praised them. But they didn't think the news would spread this soon and people would gather on the main street because of it.
"I guess we need to leave Fessi Village right now. Otherwise people will soon start looking for us, and it wouldn't be a pretty situation for us," Barry said as he saw the crowd gathered on the main street and heard the discussion.
"Traveling at night, wouldn't it be dangerous?" Jasper was reluctant about traveling at night.
He had thought of traveling in the morning when he decided the destination. But now Barry's idea to travel right away would put him in a difficult position. However, he soon came to the conclusion that it was better to travel immediately, because he feared people would come looking for them if they stayed longer in the village.
"No problem, we will travel in a [Chipper Carriage]. Meet me on the main road. I will wait there," Barry said, giving the meeting location before entering into the crowded street.
Jasper, hearing Barry, was a little puzzled because he casually mentioned the Chipper Carriage. One of the fastest and safest carriages, mostly drawn by a [Cative Elemental Horse], which he had seen a few times in Gruoce Town. If an ordinary wild horse carriage took one day to reach a destination, a Chipper Carriage would take five hours. At least that was the story he had heard, though he had never witnessed it himself.
Jasper quickly dashed toward the inn where his mother and sister were staying, while contemplating Barry's background. He had the idea that Barry's family must be wealthy since even the cookhouse old man knew about them. But he didn't expect him to be wealthy enough to use a Chipper Carriage to travel by himself.
While thinking, he reached the outer part of the village where the cheap inn was located. Quickly he entered the inn and knocked on the room he had booked. It had been almost four hours since he told them he would buy food. He hoped they hadn't fallen asleep.
Soon the door opened and a very familiar scene appeared. His sister opened the door, giving a smile as usual.
"Brother, what happened? You went for a long time," she asked with worry on her face.
"It got a little late, sorry." Jasper walked into the room. His mother was sitting on the bed.
"Jasper, did you run into any issues?" she asked, thinking those people were following them.
"No, Mother, nothing serious happened. Are you guys hungry?" Jasper brought food from the tavern for them, but he wondered whether they should eat here or in the carriage, because Barry urged him to come faster.
"Mother, we will leave the village tonight. I met a guy who has a carriage. We will travel as far as Gruoce Town," Jasper said.
"Who is it, Jasper? Where are we going?" Jocelyn inquired. Everything had happened so quickly that she hadn't asked anything earlier, but now leaving the village at night made her a little concerned.
"Mother, don't worry. We will travel in a Chipper Carriage. It's safe and we will go to Rican City. I believe we will be safe there," Jasper assured his mother after seeing her reluctant expression.
"Rican City, that is very far from here. Traveling in a Chipper Carriage would require a lot of money," she muttered.
Jasper was somewhat surprised that his mother didn't react strongly and already knew about the city and its distance. It was obvious that his mother knew more than him about the world.
"Mother, don't worry about the money. I earned enough to travel to Rican City. And the guy who owns the carriage is a good person. There will be no issues while traveling," Jasper said in a confident tone.
Hearing her son's confident words, Jocelyn stopped worrying and agreed to travel to Rican City. Soon the three of them left the inn and walked toward the main road where the carriage would be waiting for them. While walking, Jasper noticed most of the streets were empty. Everyone must be at the main street, he guessed.
Soon they reached the main road they had traveled earlier that day which led to Aught Town. Jasper quickly looked for a carriage along the road, somewhere stationed and waiting for them. But in the dark night his eyes could only see so far. Still, he decided to wait at the same location rather than wander around and miss the carriage.
Soon he saw something moving in the far distance. It was moving toward them. Soon Jasper saw a carriage darting toward them like a white flash. Within a few seconds the carriage stood in front of them. The carriage was drawn by a tall horse. As it breathed, cold frost exited from its nostrils, and every step it took left the ground frozen.
"Ice Cative Elemental Horse."
Jasper muttered as he became fascinated by the horse. Suddenly a small door opened in the front where the driver would sit, and a voice came from inside.
"Let's go, guys," Barry said as he looked at Jasper and his family through the small gap.
Soon Jasper came out of the daze and moved to the back of the carriage and boarded inside. Once they entered the carriage, the three of them felt a sudden change in the terrain. Currently they were not standing inside a carriage but inside a small luxurious room.
"Welcome," Barry's voice suddenly echoed in the room. Startled by the voice, Jasper turned toward Barry with confusion apparent on his face.
"Oh, this is my customized enchanted Chipper Carriage where one can travel freely without any struggle. But it costs a fortune," Barry explained why the interior of the carriage was big compared to the outer size. If someone looked from outside, it was a regular-sized carriage, but inside it was big enough to resemble the room they had stayed in earlier.
"Barry, this is my mother Jocelyn and my little sister Irene," Jasper introduced his family.
"Hi Aunt, my name is Barry. Thanks for deciding to travel with me," Barry politely introduced himself.
"Hello Irene, I am your brother's friend, so you must call me Brother as well." Barry quickly established himself as her brother. Hearing Barry's casual talk, both Jocelyn and Irene felt at ease.
"Okay, you guys can take rest. We will leave Fessi Village right away," Barry announced and walked toward the front of the room. Jasper followed him. Soon they entered a small chamber that turned out to be the driver's seat. From there he could see the road and control the horse's direction.
"Shall we move?" Barry asked as he gave a command by shaking the reins of the horse. Soon the horse started to run and quickly sped up, leaving Fessi Village behind.
Jasper sat beside Barry as he looked at the horse that moved like a blizzard storm, leaving a trace of frost behind it in astonishment.
