Chapter 42 - Android in the Land of Snow: Part 11

Naruto's convulsions grew more violent as the poison worked its way through her synthetic body. Her creamy pale skin began to turn an unsettling shade of blue, as though her systems were freezing from within. Her sapphire eyes, once glowing with an almost unnatural brilliance, flickered weakly, the light within them dimming like a failing lantern. She tried to speak, to force words out, but her jaw refused to move, and no sound came from her lips, only the relentless dripping of thick, black ink that poured from her mouth, pooling beneath her.

The ink spread like a grotesque stain on the pristine ice, a stark contrast to the battlefield around her. Sasori stood several paces away, watching her with a twisted smile, his crimson eyes gleaming with amusement and superiority.

"Well, well," he drawled, his voice laced with mockery. "The great, invincible doll has finally met her match. Tell me, how does it feel, knowing that you're not so perfect after all?"

Naruto's trembling hands clawed at the icy ground, her movements jerky and uncoordinated. Her body refused to obey her commands, her systems overwhelmed by the foreign substance coursing through her. Her eyes, though flickering and dim, were wide with desperation as she tried to stand, tried to prove him wrong.

But her legs refused to move, locked in place by the poison's merciless grip.

In the distance, Kakashi, Sakura, Sasuke, and Lee fought valiantly against the Snow trio, their battles raging with intense ferocity. They glanced toward Naruto from time to time, concern flashing in their eyes, but they were too preoccupied with their own opponents to come to her aid.

"Naruto!" Kakashi called out, his voice strained as he parried a strike from Nadare.

"Hang on, Naruto!" Sakura yelled, dodging a barrage of kunai.

Lee, his voice filled with determination, shouted, "I will protect you, Lady Yukie! Just hold on, Naruto!"

Sasuke, engaged in a fierce exchange of blows, clenched his teeth. "Tch. Stupid idiot, don't lose now."

But their words were drowned out by the chaos, and none of them could break away to help her.

Naruto's mind raced, panic creeping into her thoughts as Sasori took a step closer. No. This can't be happening. She refused to believe it. She was invincible. She was Naruto. She had faced the Zombie Hokages, defeated the Orochimama or something—she couldn't lose to someone like him.

Her sapphire eyes widened in fear as Sasori crouched before her, his smile growing ever more sinister.

"Still clinging to that delusion, aren't you?" he said softly, his tone mocking yet cold. "You really thought you were untouchable, didn't you? Just another puppet playing at being human. Pathetic."

Naruto's flickering eyes tried to focus on him, her body trembling as she fought against the inevitable. She wanted to scream at him, to retort with her usual bravado, but her voice was gone, her systems failing.

Sasori tilted his head, observing her like a scientist studying a specimen. "You don't even understand what you are, do you? A tool. A construct. And now…" He reached out, his fingers brushing against the seals engraved on her neck, "you'll finally stop pretending to be anything more."

Naruto's eyes flickered brighter for a brief second, a silent plea, a desperate denial. But Sasori ignored it, his hand tightening its grip around her neck.

With a loud, sickening crunch, he pulled.

Wires snapped, seals tore, and a cascade of ink sprayed into the air as Naruto's head was ripped from her body. Her frilly black dress crumpled as the lifeless frame collapsed onto the icy ground. Her head, still gripped in Sasori's hand, hung limply.

"That's what you are: a toy."

Her sapphire eyes, once so vibrant and alive, dimmed entirely, leaving nothing but a hollow, glassy stare.

Naruto Uzumaki was dead.
