Chapter 169 - Chapter 169: The Shield of the Fallen

"Ashikunz, maybe you'd like to see this." Zrelekai entered Ashikunz's room, as always, the Krukin was sitting on his throne. "Mhm?" murmured the Krukin confusedly as he descended the stairs to reach Zrelekai, who was speaking with a fearful tone.

"What happened?" he asked, while Zrelekai waved for Ashikunz to follow him. "Look over here. This is the footage from the camera in front of the prison." Currently, the video showed Corvinus, who had just arrived on the battlefield, and around him, it was a complete mess.

The whole place was filled with destroyed and charred robots and the blood of multiple human guards who had tried to defend the prison but failed.

"It's them…" shouted Ashikunz angrily as he tightened his grip on his spear. Ashikunz looked at the scene for a few seconds before speaking again. "Zrelekai… I told you about my plan, right?" he asked. Zrelekai nodded his head.

"Yes, and I feel like it will defin—" said Zrelekai before being interrupted by Ashikunz.

"Then it's time to put it into practice." With that, Ashikunz immediately started heading toward the prison. "Oh well, I can enjoy the view from here," said Zrelekai as he created some biscuits in his hands and started to watch the footage from the cameras.

The moment Kriq and Estelle realized that Corvinus was there, they exchanged a glance and immediately rushed toward him. "We'll leave the others to you, everyone!" shouted both of them. Eilwarin, not far from them, nodded his head.

"Tornado!" he shouted. Two small tornadoes appeared in front of the robotic guards. Near him were some of Uxar's creatures holding debris in their hands. "Go and shoot them!" shouted Uxar. The creatures laughed all together and started to walk toward the robotic guards, who were confused, not knowing what to do against a tornado in front of them.

"Are you done, Quinten? Will it take much longer?" asked Uxar. Next to him, Quinten was touching one of the pieces of debris an Uxar creature was holding with his finger.

Quinten was already bleeding. "I'm still giving it kinetic energy. Soon we'll be able to knock Corvinus out already, for now, just think about defending me," said Quinten as he looked over at Isorin, who was covering the three of them with black clouds.

"They will not hold for long… Eilwarin, attention!" shouted Isorin as more robots appeared and shot toward the human. "Wind Shield!" shouted Eilwarin. Strong winds appeared around his body and completely covered him; the bullets shot toward him flew away the moment they entered the shield.

"Don't worry, I'll resist… look out!" shouted Eilwarin as other robots arrived and could shoot without any problem at the three men. "Feather Burst!" shouted Catripple. Multiple feathers were launched into a group of robots and exploded, killing most of them.

"Fire… ball…" said Heleroris as she, Taniya, and Syrmax arrived as well. A small fireball was launched toward the robots and she was able to destroy some of them. "You're hurt, Heleroris!" shouted Uxar worriedly as he slowly kneeled next to her.

"I'm alright… just think about the others…" answered Heleroris while her body kept bleeding, both from the usage of magic and from the shot she had received.

Syrmax and Isorin ended up with their backs against each other while they watched the robots shooting toward them. Isorin used the black clouds to prevent the bullets from reaching him and Syrmax. Because Syrmax had such an extremely huge and muscular body, he didn't even care about the bullets; the moment they reached him, they would simply smash.

"I think you will be used before the fight against Ashikunz," said Isorin while laughing softly. Originally, the plan was for Syrmax to be the last card to play against Ashikunz; he would hold as much energy as he could and release it all against Ashikunz if things went extremely badly.

"Keeping this much energy hurts my body so much…" said Syrmax, annoyed. "Solar Cataclysm," he said while closing his right fist. Suddenly, a beam of light appeared above the robots and was shot toward them at extreme speed directly from the sky.

A few seconds after the beam finished, nothing remained of the robots; they had been completely vaporized. Syrmax was now smaller, and his body was not as muscular as before. "I'll defend you, Syrmax… Still Prism!" shouted Orechin as he created a huge blue crystal that would defend both him and the whole group from the bullets.

"I'll keep charging… Photosynthetic Requiem." With this spell, Syrmax was able to store light energy in his body, he remained still under the hot sun, holding as much light as he could.

"Finished! I've charged it enough," said Quinten as he slowly returned to his feet while his whole body was bleeding. "You should not waste time, or all the kinetic energy will be lost," he said as he trembled to stay on his feet and slowly fell to the ground.

"Don't worry… I will not miss," said Uxar as he looked toward Corvinus, who was busy fighting Estelle and Kriq.

"Abyssal Form!" shouted Kriq. His whole body suddenly changed completely; he became totally red, two long horns grew on his head, his claws became longer, and his whole body became more muscular, while the wings behind his back grew larger and allowed him to fly without any problem.

The moment one of Corvinus's blades rushed toward him, he was able to block it without any problem with his fist. Corvinus, surprised, couldn't help but gulp. "Now, Estelle!" shouted Kriq; even his voice had changed and now sounded more frightening.

"Aqua Bind!" The sticky water flowing from her sword was launched toward Corvinus's feet. 'Damn, I won't be able to dodge this!' thought Corvinus as he slashed his blades, trying to cut the sticky water. But it was useless; the blades passed through the dense water and were able to deform it only slightly, and the water reached his feet so that he could no longer move.

"Take this!" shouted Kriq angrily as he delivered a powerful punch to Corvinus's stomach. The general trembled as the punch landed and wanted to fall to the ground, but he couldn't because his feet were stuck.

"They're ready, let's go, Kriq," shouted Estelle as she ran back. Kriq nodded and noticed that other robots were arriving. "I'll take care of them!" he shouted while rushing toward the robots, who shot as much as they could. While some bullets were able to create small holes in Kriq's body, most could not even be considered harm, as his body was more resistant.

Uxar was creating a pistol shape with his finger, pointing it directly toward Corvinus's stomach. "Remind me, Quinten… how much kinetic energy did you give to this object?" asked Uxar as he waited. The small creature jumped onto his finger and got ready to shoot the object.

"It was around 10,000… he should not be able to survive. Maybe deflect it… but it will be extremely hard for him," said Quinten as he slowly got closer to the object to touch it once again. "Kinetic Anchor… at least now it will be able to absorb the hits from the blades without any problem." The moment he touched the object, the small shard became completely indestructible; even if all six blades hit this bullet together, it would not be smashed.

Quinten then fell to his knees. "It's hard to keep this much energy in an object… shoot it fast," said Quinten while looking at Uxar, who had taken aim again.

"Don't worry… Force Calibration… Bang!" The moment Uxar understood that Corvinus was looking directly at him, he didn't lose any time and immediately forced the creature to shoot the object. The moment it was shot, the creature flew away and bumped against the building behind them, creating a small crater in the wall.

'FUCK!' thought Corvinus, terrified. "Execution Formation!" The six blades behind his back formed a defensive cage around him. The moment the projectile entered the cage, the blades all shattered against the object in an instant.

It couldn't be seen by any human eye, but the moment any object enters the cage, no matter how fast it is moving, the blades will always hit it, even if it means breaking the laws of physics and surpass the speed of light.

The projectile was going extremely fast. The moment the first blade hit the object, it immediately trembled, and the pain of touching an object moving this fast was transferred to Corvinus, who felt his body in pain for an instant.

Without even giving time for the other blades to return to their original positions, each blade immediately rushed toward the object. After each had hit the projectile, all the blades together rushed toward it, not able to smash it, but able to deflect it. The object did not hit his stomach, but his right leg instead.

"ARGHHH!" shouted Corvinus as he was shot brutally toward the wall of the prison, his whole leg crying in pain as it was half opened and the object had been able to create a hole in his skin. Corvinus's body was in complete agony; the moment the blades hit the shard, his whole body felt the recoil, and by the time he realized what was happening, he immediately fell unconscious.

Corvinus's body would have smashed through the walls of the prison, creating multiple holes, but it was blocked by the same creature who had blocked the projectile without any problem. "You did well…" said the creature as he slowly left Corvinus's body inside the prison.

The moment the rebels noticed who this creature was, they immediately gathered close to each other, for it was the real final boss. Ashikunz slashed his spear forward while looking at the group in a threatening way. "Surrender now… or I'll kill you," said Ashikunz angrily.

"No… we… will… win… Fire Wall…" said Heleroris as she noticed multiple robots arriving in their direction. With this fire wall, she was able to block every single entrance, leaving them alone with Ashikunz while the whole place became hotter because of the flames.

"I'll leave the rest to you…" said Heleroris as she closed her eyes. She did not pass out, but her whole body was in constant pain, and she had to rest.

"Aerial Shift!" shouted Estelle as she immediately rushed toward Ashikunz. From the katana flowing with wind, she was able to create a wind current that shot her directly toward Ashikunz at extreme speed.

"Aqua Bi—" Estelle couldn't even finish her spell that would have blocked Ashikunz's feet. The Krukin, with his spear, was able to destroy the katana, and with the other part of the spear, he sent Estelle flying away. Her whole body was crying in pain, and by the time she stopped moving, her eyes were closed.

'What happened…' she thought confusedly as the katana disappeared from her hands and she lost consciousness. Ashikunz didn't even give the others time to realize what was happening before he immediately rushed toward the group at full speed.

"I'll stop him!" The only one who could react in time was Kriq, as he flew at extreme speed toward Ashikunz, blocking the Krukin's spear with his fist. "You'll not defeat us!" he shouted as his eyes became redder and he grew angrier.

Kriq was someone who, thanks to constant learning, had been able to control this transformation; however, whenever he feels too much danger, he slowly loses his temper and cannot focus on anything.

"I'll help you!" shouted Isorin. He launched all the invisible clouds toward Ashikunz. "Thorn Proliferation!" he shouted. Multiple clouds became visible, and with a single spike, they all tried to hit Ashikunz, who looked at the spikes rushing toward him at extreme speed, jumped, and dodged all of them, leaving both Kriq and Isorin confused by what had happened.

"I'll kill you!!" Suddenly, from behind Ashikunz while he was in the air, Estelle appeared. While her whole body was in constant pain and multiple scratches had appeared on her skin, she slashed her katana full of flames toward Ashikunz's back.

"It won't work."

Ashikunz spoke with a calm tone, as if he had already noticed Estelle was there and expected her to arrive. He slowly rotated mid-air and blocked the slash with his spear. "Wind Slash!" From the ground, Eilwarin created a slash made of wind that rushed directly toward Ashikunz.

"Feather Burst!" shouted Catripple as she grabbed three feathers from her back. Thanks to Eilwarin's winds, they reached Ashikunz even faster.

"DIE!!" shouted Estelle angrily. Ashikunz closed his eyes for a moment and, without giving anyone time to realize what was happening, the thing that occurred made everyone's eyes fill with fear: he had grabbed Estelle's body and used it as a shield. The feathers exploded, charring Estelle's body, and the wind shattered her body in half.

"ARGHH, YOU FUCKER!" shouted Kriq angrily as he immediately flew toward Ashikunz. "Take her," said Ashikunz while falling. Right before Kriq was about to hit him, he launched both parts of Estelle's body toward him. Kriq, who could not hit his friend, stopped the attack and grabbed Estelle's lifeless body, slowly returning to the ground.

"How… HOW DARE Y—" Kriq was slowly getting angrier, his eyes were exploding, and he wanted to smash everything. He was about to lose control of everything, but the moment he landed on the ground and raised his head, Ashikunz didn't let him finish and, with his spear, cut off Kriq's head.

Most of the rebels gulped in fear. "Don't get distracted!" shouted Uxar as he ordered more of his creatures to shoot from multiple directions. "Are you ready with the crystals, Orechin?" asked Uxar while he started to sweat. Ashikunz was now destroying all the objects rushing at him with bare effort.

"One moment… Done!" shouted Orechin, as he had created around one hundred green crystals. "Great…" said Uxar while he turned toward the crystals. "Swarm Retrieval," said Uxar, and multiple creatures, around one hundred, appeared and grabbed all the crystals together.

"Do it…" whispered Orechin as his eyes turned black and he slowly fell to his knees, unable to move anymore. "Hoard Collapse." After Uxar pronounced these words, the battlefield froze for a moment.

It felt as if time had stopped for a single second, and the only things that could move were Uxar's creatures, who all rushed toward Ashikunz and flew directly over his head with all one hundred green crystals. Once all of them were there, time started to flow again and all the green crystals fell on top of Ashikunz. To his surprise, he couldn't dodge them.

Orechin felt part of his strength returning to his body, his vision was no longer blurry and his eyes were no longer black. "Now, Syrmax, he's weaker!" shouted Orechin. He knew that once this much strength returned to his body, it meant the enemy was close to their weakest state. Knowing that Ashikunz was not a normal enemy, he wasn't sure how weak he actually was now, but it was definitely worse than before.

"Solar Cataclysm…" whispered Syrmax. His body had never been this huge, and with this single attack, he would have been able to destroy more than half of Ardoris, which had a diameter of two kilometers. He compressed this single attack onto a single creature.

"KILL HIM, SYRMAX!" shouted Isorin. The light beam appeared on top of Ashikunz's head in an instant and rushed at extreme speed toward the Krukin, who could do nothing to defend against this attack.

Zrelekai watched the attack and, while eating some watermelon-flavored popcorn, he got excited. "Ohhh, finally the big part arrives," he said.

"Is it over…" whispered Uxar as he took a step forward, not frightened by the beam. Behind him, Syrmax was in his weaker state and his eyes had turned black, meaning that he would soon reach the final stage.

The beam kept falling on top of Ashikunz, and Uxar slowly turned around. "I guess we can call it our—" He didn't even have time to finish speaking before Ashikunz's spear was launched at extreme speed and pierced his stomach, creating a huge hole in it.

Uxar, with blood in his mouth, looked at his companions while tears started to flow down his cheeks. "Escape… we've lost…" He fell to the ground lifeless, and Ashikunz emerged from the beam unharmed. "How?!" shouted Isorin. The moment Ashikunz arrived next to them, Isorin launched every single cloud on the battlefield toward him.

"Black Bloom Catastrophe!" he shouted. Every single cloud, of which there were over fifty, became completely full of spikes and appeared next to Ashikunz. But the Krukin had already grabbed his spear, the moment he realized multiple spikes were rushing at him, he simply swung his spear extremely fast and destroyed every single one.

"It's over… run away…" said Isorin, turning around and smiling even as his body became transparent. His head and Quinten's were cut off by Ashikunz's spear as they were nearby.

"Let's go!" shouted Catripple, terrified, as she grabbed Eilwarin and brought him away, escaping at full speed. From the sky, Ashikunz looked at them escaping and did not move, instead, he went toward Orechin, Syrmax, Heleroris, and Taniya.

'I'll bait you…' thought Taniya, unafraid. Suddenly Syrmax's voice could be heard again: "Solar Cataclysm." But it was not coming from Syrmax, it was one of Taniya's spells. She hoped that this voice would be able to make Ashikunz flee and allow the four of them to run away. But it was useless, the Krukin did not even flinch.

"Why it ended like this…" she said, whils she wanted to cry realizing that everyone got killed, but she couldn't, because Ashikunz first cut off her head and then Heleroris's next to her. "We need to escape!!" shouted Orechin as he created a huge blue crystal between himself and Ashikunz before grabbing Syrmax's body and running away.

Syrmax looked over at his lifeless companions and couldn't help but burst into tears. Now that the fire wall was removed, the robots entered the battlefield, but they did not go for the rebels; they went toward Ashikunz. "Escape… so one day you might return," whispered Ashikunz as he watched Orechin and Syrmax running away. "And with other humans arriving… it will finally be the end of humanity… I'll kill you all" He slowly slashed his spear and some blood flew off it. He looked at the huge crater generated by Syrmax and sighed.

'If the crystals weren't there… it could have ended badly. I might have lost an arm,' he thought as he slowly entered the prison with his spear still covered in blood.
