"I'm not really interested in your past. I'm just curious how you met Levi and the others—you seem really close."
Chen Si finally voiced a question that had been on his mind for a long time.
"Maybe it was just fate…"
Winyaad lowered her eyes slightly, a faint smile appearing on her lips, her gaze filled with memories.
Winyaad was the third transmigrator, originally from South Korea in her previous life. Her father was Korean, her mother Chinese. Her parents divorced when she was young. Her father died in a struggle among Korean chaebols—his death ruled an "accidental suicide" in a hotel. After his death, her mother returned to China and stopped caring about her life altogether.
Disheartened, she lost interest in that world.
By chance, while drunk at a bar, she met a U.S. military officer.
In order to survive, she changed her name to Chis Winyaad and joined a U.S. military base stationed in Korea. The name came from her favorite female spy character. Eventually, she obtained U.S. citizenship and became an intelligence agent monitoring South Korea.
During a special mission, she was tasked with manipulating the chairman of a Korean conglomerate. To gain access, she needed to approach his only son.
Unexpectedly, she discovered that the chairman's son was a fan of an anime called Attack on Titan, and planned to attend a reader event held by its author, Hajime Isayama, in New York.
Originally uninterested in anime, she began binge-analyzing the series overnight to get close to him at the event.
What started as a mission turned into genuine interest—she found the anime surprisingly good, and even grew fond of the character Levi Ackerman.
The night before attending the reader event, she fell asleep…
…and woke up in the year 844.
Year 844, Underground City beneath the capital.
Winyaad woke to find herself lying on a wooden bed inside a simple yet unusually clean room.
Her trained instincts kicked in immediately—she scanned every corner with sharp vigilance. She concluded she must have been captured and detained in some remote wooden house.
But that made no sense.
The South Korean authorities were largely incompetent—how could they possibly expose her identity as a spy? And even if they did, she had the backing of the United States. There was no way they would dare arrest her privately.
What shocked her more was that she seemed much younger.
Holding up a candle and looking at her reflection in the window, she realized she had reverted to her high school age—five years younger.
She frowned.
A genetic weapon? Was she captured for human experimentation? That seemed unlikely—South Korea lacked both the courage and the technology.
Then what?
Had the U.S. eliminated her after she outlived her usefulness?
Winyaad fell deep into thought. It seemed like the only possibility. She hadn't been performing well in missions over the past two years—others had been completing her assignments. The base had grown dissatisfied with her.
Sitting down on the wooden bed, she let out a bitter laugh.
Even if that were true, why was this place so primitive? Were they treating her like a prisoner? The people she captured had better conditions than this.
"Ding! System activated."
"This is a one-time system containing a beginner tutorial. Please listen carefully. After the voice broadcast is complete, the system will self-destruct."
"You have entered the world of Attack on Titan, created by Hajime Isayama."
"Beginner reward granted:
Superpower – Soul Control
(Control 1 person for 5 seconds, or 5 people for 1 second. Cooldowns: 1 minute and 5 minutes respectively. Full activation requires killing Titans.)"
"Bonus Character Template: Black Widow
(Enhanced combat ability, increased durability, slowed aging.)
Power comparison: roughly equal to Mikasa Ackerman in normal state—50/50.)"
"Enjoy your game."
"What is this… a computer? A chip implant? Hypnosis?"
Winyaad's mind raced wildly, unable to make sense of the situation.
"Huh? You're awake?"
A red-haired girl with messy hair stood at the doorway, looking pleasantly surprised.
Winyaad's eyes sharpened instantly. She lunged forward, instinctively reaching for the girl.
The girl—Isabel—froze in place, unable to react in time. Even Winyaad herself was surprised by her own speed.
Just as her kick was about to land, she realized her target was just a young girl. She quickly pulled back her strength at the last second.
Suddenly—
A swift figure flashed in.
A powerful kick struck her leg, sending her stumbling to the ground.
Before she could get up, a sharp blade was already pressed against her throat.
"Who are you people? Why did you capture me?" Winyaad gritted her teeth.
She hadn't expected this short man in front of her to be so strong.
"Miss, are you mistaken?"
Farlan said irritably, "You collapsed right in front of our place. If not for Isabel speaking up for you, Levi would've already killed you."
"Isabel, are you hurt?"
Levi Ackerman ignored Winyaad and asked calmly.
"Isabel… Levi…?"
Winyaad was shaken.
"Aren't these characters from that manga…?"
Combined with the system's message, realization finally hit her.
I've transmigrated into the world of a manga…
"I… can I join you?"
Her face flushed slightly with embarrassment. After all, she had just attacked them.
"Yeah, yeah! Big brother, let her join us!"
Isabel cheered excitedly. "Now I'll finally have another girl companion!"
"What's your motive?"
Levi's deadpan eyes fixed on her as his blade pressed closer to her neck.
"I don't belong to any faction. I have no family or connections here. I follow no one's orders. I don't have any ulterior motive—I just want to join you."
Winyaad took a deep breath and explained.
"Farlan."
Levi glanced at him.
Understanding immediately, Farlan stepped out to investigate her background.
For over ten minutes, Levi kept his blade at her throat without restraining her—his confidence absolute.
Winyaad felt a bit humiliated, but she didn't know whether her "Black Widow" abilities could match Levi, known as humanity's strongest. She didn't dare take the risk—this was a world of Titans.
"Levi, there's no record of her in any gang,"
Farlan reported upon returning. "She seems to have appeared out of nowhere. Most likely someone who escaped from the surface—not a person of the royal government."
Levi finally lowered his blade.
"What's your name?" he asked flatly.
Isabel beamed—she knew that question meant acceptance.
"Chis… Chis Winyaad."
Winyaad let out a breath of relief as she slowly stood up.
