…
Some Time Earlier
At the heart of the Nine Realms—
Asgard.
After more than fifteen centuries of conquest in Asgard's name, Thor Odinson—at the height of his prime—was finally to inherit the throne from his father, Odin Allfather.
He was strong.
Brave.
Proud.
A peerless warrior.
Beloved by the people.
With Mjolnir, forged in the heart of a dying star, in hand—none could stand before him.
Yet his brother, Loki, could not bear it.
Had Odin not once said that both sons were worthy of kingship?
Why, then, was Loki reduced to a spectator at Thor's coronation?
Resentment festered.
So Loki secretly revealed to Laufey, king of the Frost Giants, a hidden path that bypassed the Bifrost and led into Asgard.
On the day of Thor's ascension, Frost Giants infiltrated Odin's Vault to create chaos.
Though they were ultimately destroyed by the Destroyer Armor, the ceremony was disrupted—exactly as Loki intended.
…
Loki then provoked Thor—already enraged—into leading the Warriors Three to Jotunheim, realm of the Frost Giants.
There, they were surrounded by the entire Frost Giant host.
Thor held his own with Mjolnir.
But his companions faltered.
And in battle—
Loki discovered something horrifying.
He was immune to frost.
A trait only Frost Giants possessed.
His world tilted.
If his heritage were exposed—
He would lose everything.
…
When all seemed lost—
Odin arrived astride Sleipnir, descending through the Bifrost in divine radiance.
Thor demanded they wipe out the Frost Giants entirely.
Odin refused.
He was old.
Too old.
Even godly power could not halt the march of fate.
He returned them to Asgard.
Father and son clashed in fury.
Odin stripped Thor of his power.
Banished him to Midgard—Earth.
There, powerless, Thor would have time to reflect.
Odin then enchanted Mjolnir:
"Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor."
And hurled it toward Earth.
A trial.
A path to rebirth.
…
After Thor's exile—
Loki attempted to recruit the Warriors Three.
They saw through him.
Rejected him.
Bitter and confused, Loki entered Odin's Vault and touched the Casket of Ancient Winters.
His skin turned icy blue.
The truth became undeniable.
He was Frost Giant by blood.
Odin confronted him.
"What am I to you?" Loki demanded.
"No matter what you are," Odin replied, "you are my son."
Then—
The Allfather fell into the Odinsleep.
With Odin unconscious and Thor banished—
Loki, wielding the Spear of Odin (Gungnir), became acting king.
He resolved:
If Thor never returned…
If Jotunheim were destroyed entirely…
His secret would die with them.
And Loki would rule unchallenged.
But Queen Frigga revealed the truth—
Mjolnir was Thor's key.
This was a test.
Not abandonment.
Loki's heart twisted.
Father.
Why always him?
The hammer.
The throne.
Everything.
He made his decision.
He would go to Midgard.
And ensure Thor never returned.
…
Meanwhile – Earth
Thor landed in New Mexico—
Stripped of divinity.
Reduced to a slightly stronger-than-average man.
He was promptly hit by a van driven by astrophysicist Jane Foster, who had been studying strange atmospheric phenomena caused by the Bifrost.
Her intern, Darcy Lewis, mistook him for a deranged cosplayer and tased him unconscious.
They brought him to a hospital.
Thor awoke briefly, fought off multiple staff members, and was sedated again.
Jane left after paying the medical bill.
But later—
While reviewing photos of the anomaly—
Darcy noticed something.
A figure at the center of the disturbance.
Jane's intuition flared.
She drove back.
That man—
He might be the answer.
…
Then—
BAM.
Her SUV stopped instantly.
From seventy miles per hour to zero.
"Holy—"
"It's Homelander!"
Darcy shrieked.
Standing before the vehicle—
Blocking it with one arm—
Was Leon.
Silver armor gleaming.
Red cape stirring.
He cast a long shadow over the fallen Thor, who sat on the dirt in hospital scrubs.
Leon extended a hand.
"Hey, buddy. You okay?"
"You've gotta watch for traffic. You might accidentally hit the jackpot."
On that subject—
Leon had experience.
