…
Queens and Manhattan were barely twenty kilometers apart.
At Leon's current speed, the trip could be completed in a blink.
But Leon, being Leon, deliberately slowed things down.
He looped lazily between boroughs, circling the skyline under the pretense of "scenic routing," all while enjoying the warmth in his arms and indulging Peter's delighted laughter.
Only after Peter fully adapted to high-speed flight—and May had processed what exactly she was doing pressed against Leon's chest—did he descend leisurely into an ordinary Queens neighborhood.
Queens wasn't wealthy.
Nor was it poor.
It was a working-class mosaic—diverse, grounded, alive.
A place where future best friends like Ned Leeds would one day grow up.
"Did you have fun, Peter?" Leon asked after landing.
"Yes!"
Peter nodded vigorously.
May, however, had grown quiet.
The adrenaline had faded.
Reality had returned.
She was already regretting how impulsively she had invited Leon in.
Once their lives expanded to include someone like him—
Could they ever go back to normal?
She wasn't naïve.
Leon's interest, no matter how genuine in the moment, might be fleeting.
She wasn't young.
She couldn't afford selfishness.
Peter came first.
"Aunt May?" Peter squeezed her hand gently. "Are you not happy?"
Leon, meanwhile, stood near the window, seemingly waiting.
"I'm happy, Peter," May said softly, stroking his hair.
Then—
A distant mechanical roar.
They looked out the window.
Leon's Jet Glider hovered below—unmanned—carrying an enormous birthday cake taller than Peter himself.
Wind rushed in as the window opened.
Leon blurred.
The next instant, the cake rested effortlessly in his single hand.
"Is that for me?!" Peter's eyes sparkled.
"Of course, buddy."
Leon ruffled his hair, then shot May a subtle wink.
May forced a smile.
"Peter, are you going to let Mr. Leon hold that cake forever? Clean the table."
"Yes, ma'am!"
Peter saluted dramatically and swept his toys into a basket.
Eight rainbow candles were placed and lit.
"Make a wish," Leon said warmly. "Anything within my power."
"Anything?" Peter asked.
"Anything."
Peter's eyes flicked between Leon and May.
Then inspiration struck.
"I wish Mr. Leon and Aunt May get together—so I can have an uncle!"
May choked.
"Peter!"
She tapped his head gently.
"Don't say things like that."
"Oh… then I'll make another wish."
She nodded approvingly.
Unaware that Peter had silently repeated the same wish in his heart.
Flexible morals.
Future Spider-Man energy already present.
Peter blew out the candles—with Leon's help.
Cake was sliced.
But before anyone took a bite—
Peter launched a cream attack.
Perfect aim.
One hand for Leon.
One for May.
May gasped—
Leon retaliated immediately.
Full coverage.
Within seconds, a cream war erupted.
Eventually, May joined in, laughing despite herself—sneaking in a playful swipe across Leon's face… and abs.
Children burn bright—and fast.
After exhausting themselves, Peter collapsed asleep before even tasting the cake.
Leon and May carried him to the bathroom together.
While rinsing him off, the showerhead slipped.
Water drenched both of them.
They froze.
Met each other's eyes.
Said nothing.
Understood everything.
After putting Peter to bed—
Leon showered quickly in the guest bathroom.
May did the same in hers.
When they emerged—
They met in the living room.
Leon wore only his Ultra-Elastic Fiber Undergarment (Quality: Indestructible).
He looked sculpted from marble.
May wore a thin silk nightdress.
Tasteful.
Soft.
Devastating.
They sat side by side.
Silence stretched.
Finally, Leon placed his hand over hers, intertwining their fingers.
"May. Listen to me."
"Peter wants an uncle. I can fill that place. For him. And for you."
"I'm afraid…"
"There's nothing to fear."
He lifted her chin gently.
"Look at me. Don't overthink. Just follow the rhythm. Time will prove everything."
"For Peter. And for you. I'm serious."
May hesitated.
Her heartbeat quickened.
Her doubts remained—
But her defenses were thinning.
Leon leaned closer.
He knew persuasion required patience.
Tonight wasn't about conquest.
It was about certainty.
Outside, Queens remained ordinary.
Inside—
Something was quietly changing.
And in the bedroom down the hall—
Peter Parker slept peacefully.
Unaware that his wish might actually come true.
