Chapter 31 - Underneath Zudrath City

Seeing the King's reaction, the six generals silently cursed the fat king, clicking their tongue as they mutterd inwardly.

"You useless obese ruler."

"I hope you choke yourself and die of eating."

"When will you decide to die, you fat king."

The generals said to themselves, cursing silently while expressing a forced smile as they bowed right before King Gob Som Cena.

King Gob Som Cena waved his hand lazily, two palace guards immediately stepped in and assisted the King on its feet, King Gob Som Cena leaned in slightly, trying to balance itself as he staggered foward and backward.

"I shall the matter of the frontier in your hands," King Gob Som Cena said, wiping the extra grease from it's mouth as he exited the tent, leaving the six generals alone to further discuss strategies on how to defeat the Southern Kingdom.

When King Gob Som Cena reached the exit of the military barracks, his horse which had been lying on the ground, clearly exhausted from enduring the King's heavy weight, immediately stood up and dashed toward the outskirts, as if running away from its most feared nightmare.

The king, along with a few palace guards and maids, was utterly stunned by the horse behavior, they watched as the King's horse sprinted at speed, leaving behind a cloud of dust as it disappeared into the distance.

King Gob Som Cena and the palace guards stood completely stunned, but also immediately regained their composure, as if such occurrences have already happened more than once.

They immediately went to fetch another horse, one soldier who was casually brushing a stallion's mane, when suddenly a palace guard kick him hard on the abdomen and sent the soldier tumbling to the ground, and the royal guard immediately took the horse's reins and gave a cold snort on the lying soldier, still clutching its stomach as he groaned loudly.

The soldier immediately shot up to it's feet, ignoring the spreading pain on his abdomen as he shouted loudly at the palace guard, yet as he was about to let out a word, he immediately swallowed the frustration as realization dawned, he can only grit his teeth as he glanced at his horse's disappearing figure getting towed away in the distance.

With that, the King immediately mounted the stolen horse as two palace guards assisted him riding safely on top, the horse groaned violently as the king landed on it's back, it's breath suddenly became heavy as if silently cursing the obese ruler.

While the Western Kingdom continued it's usual routine of absurd chaos, Zudrath City has evolved once more, the once tiny village in a secluded land, had now transformed into a proper city, housing tens of thousands of people living happily as if chaos and destruction had become a luxury they could no longer afford.

And right now, another transformation is about to occur, as Roy and his altar servers, along with the seven ministers representing the seven ministries sat together on a round stone table, discussing a topic that is very...absurd

"We shall build a proper military base," Roy said, his voice low yet firm, as if discussing a matter that isn't close to absurdity.

One minister stepped in immediately, his tone calm and steady, "Lord Zudra is correct, the military unit in the city have been increasing at an alarming speed, already surpassing thirteen thousand men, the old military barracks could no longer fit such a number, what they need is a proper headquarters."

"That is correct," Roy replied casually, handing out a blueprint of the supposed to be new military base, "and we will build it underground."

"..."

"...under the...ground"?

"Yes."

The ministries all exchanged uneasy glances, clearly unable to process what they had just heard, yet they still nodded in agreement, confusion and bewilderment evident in their faces.

Seeing the ministers expression, Roy sighed a heavy breath, he had no choice but explain the plan in full detail.

"Military intelligence must strictly remain classified," Roy said, his tone dismissive as if saying something so casual that needed no further explanation, "so no other forces could extract information from us, especially military strategies and weapons."

The seven ministers nodded slowly, understanding slowly dawned on them as they listened with utter obedience.

"I will fund the project, and I have also constructed the layout of the base, what remains is to bury in underground."

"We will bury the base just outside the city gates, and you will hire workers to create a tunnel to connect them directly at the military barracks."

And with that, the assembly was dismissed, and Roy immediately exited the mirror and grabbed the freshly finished military base, which he had spent a considerable amount of time creating.

The newly finished base was made purely of stainless steel, the walls were equally thin as a razor blade, which Roy had been tirelessy adding small metal cubes, welding them together until they formed small boxes that resembled tiny rooms and halls.

Roy even added wide plain boxes that would later be turned into a shooting ground, much like what other military bases have, where soldiers were trained on trigger discipline, accuracy and efficiency, added a large, steel panel that covered the top.

The result that came made Roy almost spat blood, the result was so absurd he even considered throwing the idea entirely, yet hesitation was no longer even he could afford, his tiny people needed the military base considerably, and that fact shattered all doubt's.

Without further hesitation, Roy grabbed a shovel and started digging right outside the city gates.

Inside the city, the crowd watched with wide eyes as a giant metal monstrosity came descending down from the sky and struck the ground beneath, and scooped a large quantity of soil into the air before disappearing into the heavens, creating a large crater on the earth.

The hole waa dug deeper and deeper until it reached more than twenty meter meters high and a few hundred meter wide, engulfing the entire field.

Then finally, the digging came to an end, but what came next made the citizens gasps even louder, their mouth hanging wide as they stared at the humongous object descending from the sky.
