Chapter 144 -  Naruko’s Frustration

Minato Namikaze:

"That was… Obito…"

Jiraiya:

"There's no doubt about it. That spatial distortion was definitely Obito."

Tsunade:

"Obito! So you've finally shown yourself!"

Ōnoki:

"In our world, the Uchiha Clan massacre happened around this time. In that world, however, the Uchiha seem to have a fairly harmonious relationship with Konoha. Still, I didn't expect Obito to appear there too."

Kakashi Hatake:

"Obito… what are you doing in the Uchiha Clan district?"

Obito Uchiha:

"That's the me from another world. How would I know what he's planning?"

Rin Nohara:

"Obito…"

Obito Uchiha:

Ahem. "Rin, I'd guess his purpose is similar to mine back then. On one hand, searching for talented Uchiha… and on the other, obtaining Sharingan."

Hiruzen Sarutobi:

"I see. Spare Sharingan… or perhaps preparation for Izanagi."

Minato Namikaze:

"I just hope the people in that world discover Obito sooner."

Obito Uchiha:

"Perhaps. Even if they do… I just hope you arrive in time, Sensei."

Minato Namikaze:

"..."

The Screen Continued

Itachi continued observing the Uchiha Clan district.

Suddenly he remembered that he hadn't checked the Naka River area yet.

"Hm. Such a remote place must be hiding some danger."

(It's definitely not because I want to peek at Satsuki.)

He adjusted the focus on his binoculars and looked toward the river.

Then—

He froze.

Completely petrified.

Down by the river, Satsuki was training with Nagi.

Satsuki was attacking him using her modified Uchiha Clan Taijutsu.

Meanwhile, Nagi had deliberately closed his eyes, trying to train his sensory perception while dodging her attacks.

But from Itachi's perspective—

It looked like Satsuki was lightly pounding her fists against a boy's chest.

And the boy had his eyes closed with an expression of pure enjoyment.

"…Heh."

"Where did this brat come from, flirting with my little sister?!"

Itachi immediately recognized Nagi.

After all, the Academy's first-year champion was hard to miss.

He activated his three-tomoe Sharingan and stared at them intensely.

After finishing their morning training, the two stopped to rest.

Nagi had caught several fish from the river.

Satsuki skillfully helped set up the grill, washed the cooking tools, and cleaned the fish Nagi had caught.

Before long, Nagi finished grilling the fish.

Satsuki took out a bento, which contained several rice balls.

The two sat by the river, eating grilled fish with rice balls.

The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable.

Meanwhile, on the watchtower—

Itachi's blood pressure was skyrocketing.

Watching his sister cooking together with another boy and happily sharing a meal with him dealt 10,000 points of emotional damage to his heart.

Just then, a cheerful voice sounded behind him.

"Itachi, just as I thought—you skipped your meal again."

Itachi turned his head.

"Izumi?"

Izumi Uchiha walked over carrying a small bag.

"Itachi, your mission is important, but eating on time is important too. You eat first—I'll take over the patrol."

"That won't be necessary, I—"

Izumi suddenly held something up in front of his eyes.

Dango.

She waved the tri-color dango teasingly.

"These are special—limited location, limited time dango. Want some?"

Itachi swallowed.

And immediately surrendered.

Moments later—

Itachi happily enjoyed his dango while Izumi looked around through the binoculars.

Suddenly she paused.

"Wait… that's Satsuki."

"And the one beside her is… Nagi , the first-year champion, right?"

She watched the two small figures eating together by the river.

"Ahh… they're both so tiny and cute."

The sight warmed her heart.

But then she glanced over at Itachi, who was blissfully enjoying his dango.

"…Actually, this version of Itachi is the cutest."

Meanwhile—

At another small stream, Naruko Uzumaki looked extremely depressed.

She sat by the water, fishing listlessly.

Although she had been catching plenty of fish lately, she couldn't feel happy at all.

"Sigh… how many days has it been?"

"Why hasn't Nagi shown up yet?"

Naruko rested her chin in her hand, looking lonely.

When she first discovered this place and treated it as her secret base, she enjoyed the peace and freedom of being alone.

But after Nagi began visiting—

Her life suddenly felt vibrant and colorful.

Now that he wasn't coming anymore…

Everything felt dull and monotonous again.

Eventually, out of boredom, she took out the sealing scroll Kushina had given her and began practicing.

Evening

Satsuki returned home.

As soon as she entered the house, she saw Itachi sitting at the entrance, looking utterly defeated.

Satsuki ignored him completely.

After greeting Mikoto briefly, she went off to take a bath.

During dinner—

Itachi ate quietly, looking somewhat dejected.

Satsuki still wore her usual cold expression.

However, Mikoto, who knew her daughter well, noticed something different.

Satsuki seemed to be in a very good mood lately.

Had something pleasant happened?

Time passed quickly.

The vacation slipped away quietly.

And before anyone realized it—

The new school term arrived.

Many students chatted excitedly in the classroom about their holiday experiences.

Naruko sat beside Nagi, looking a little downcast.

"Nagi… where did you go during the vacation?"

"I never saw you anywhere."

Only then did Nagi realize something.

During the entire vacation, he had been completely immersed in training.

He really hadn't visited Naruko's secret base even once.

"I spent the whole vacation training."

Naruko blinked in surprise.

"Training?"

"Yes."

"I see…"

"No wonder you never came there."

After learning that Nagi had been busy with serious training rather than ignoring her, Naruko's mood improved significantly.

"Well… I guess that can't be helped."

Suddenly she seemed to remember something.

"Oh! Then you could train with me!"

"I can teach you sealing techniques."

Nagi immediately became serious.

"Naruko, ninjutsu shouldn't be casually taught to others."

"Your sealing techniques were probably taught to you by Aunt Kushina, right?"

"Without her permission, you shouldn't teach them to someone else so easily."

"…I understand."

Seeing Nagi's serious expression, Naruko obediently nodded.

Hinata, who had overheard their conversation, spoke up with interest.

"Training? Then count me in too."

Nagi looked slightly surprised.

"Doesn't the Hyūga Clan have instructors specifically assigned to train you?"

Hinata waved her hand dismissively.

"During the vacation my father had my cousin spar with me."

"But honestly, he wasn't that impressive."

"He spent the entire vacation as my punching bag. To be honest, I started finding him annoying."

Naruko and Nagi silently felt pity for that unnamed cousin.

Not far away—

Satsuki, who had "accidentally" overheard their conversation, learned that Nagi planned to train together with the two girls.

Her eyes narrowed slightly.
