Chapter 146: Guh, Just Kill Me
As it turned out, Nezuko's premonition was completely wrong.
Suyan didn't manage to kiss Kanzaki Aoi's soft lips and achieve the quad-kill milestone of kissing all the beautiful girls in the Butterfly Mansion.
Instead, he ended up in an incredibly messy situation.
Feeling the warm stream flowing down her thighs, completely soaking her pants, and even gradually spreading onto Suyan's clothes, Kanzaki Aoi's brain instantly short-circuited.
In that moment, she seemed to completely lose the human capacity for speech. She raised her head, looking at Suyan with a gaze as wooden as a robot's. Not a single trace of human emotion could be seen in her pupils—only a pale, hollow void.
He shouldn't have noticed, right? He didn't notice, right? Please tell me he didn't notice...
Aoi prayed frantically in her heart, desperately hoping that Suyan remained oblivious to the abnormality on her body. If he hadn't noticed, she could just push him away as fast as possible, run off to change into clean clothes, and pretend this whole ordeal never happened.
Slowly, her eyes met Suyan's.
Even though not a single word was exchanged between them, she immediately caught the fleeting, barely noticeable flash of awkwardness in his eyes. She knew instantly that Suyan was fully aware of her current state.
A rush of intense humiliation surged straight to her brain, dyeing her entire face the color of liver. Gradually, the flush spread down her neck, her ears, her arms—every inch of exposed skin began to turn fiercely red. Aoi had instantly transformed into a Steam Engine, looking like a lobster tossed into boiling water, radiating intense heat and practically steaming.
Humiliating! This was unbelievably humiliating!
Never in her life had she wished so desperately to be like the other Demon Slayer Corps members, to go out on a mission and just die at the hands of a demon. At least that way, she wouldn't have to experience such an embarrassing moment in front of Suyan. Even dying during the Final Selection would have been better than this!
Aoi could have racked her brains for a lifetime and never imagined a day where she would actually pee on someone else.
This was completely different from her previous bed-wetting incident. Strictly speaking, no one had actually discovered she had wet the bed. The moment she realized what had happened, she had washed the soiled sheets, blankets, and clothes at lightning speed. To cover her tracks, she had even washed all the bedsheets in the entire Butterfly Mansion that day.
The only reason the three girls of the Butterfly Estate teased her about it was based on pure speculation. As playful as those three were, they knew where to draw the line. If they had hard proof, they wouldn't have used it to actually humiliate her; they only brought it up as a joke, allowing Aoi to deny it as absolute nonsense.
But now, something far more terrifying than bed-wetting had occurred.
Aoi weakly buried her face into Suyan's chest.
I'm impure now... After something like this, how could she ever get married? What man would accept a woman who accidentally wet herself and peed on someone else? What man could accept a woman who peed on him?
If it were a man with a worse temper, he probably would have drawn his Nichirin Sword and hacked her to pieces by now! To be killed because you accidentally peed on someone? Just thinking about that laughable cause of death being carved into her tombstone made her cry tears of bitter regret. Anything but that!!!
Looking at Aoi sobbing into his chest, Suyan felt a bit awkward, but he was faring much better than she was.
For one, he wasn't the one who lost control of his bladder; he was just collateral damage. Secondly, the culprit was a beautiful young girl who was highly likely to become one of his Contracted partners. Besides, wasn't it just a little accident? Similar things had happened with his other partners before, though he wouldn't dwell on those details. Thirdly, no one else knew about this. Compared to Aoi's total social death, he only felt a mild inconvenience.
Suyan gently patted Aoi's delicate shoulder and asked softly, "Are you okay?"
He shouldn't have asked. The moment he spoke, it was as if a switch had been flipped, and Aoi burst into loud, unrestrained wailing.
What else could she do besides cry? Blame Suyan? She wasn't an unreasonable woman. He might have been slightly at fault, but if they calculated the percentages, his share of the blame wouldn't even amount to one percent.
Faced with her sudden emotional outburst, Suyan was momentarily at a loss for what to do. Before he could even try to comfort her, Aoi slowly reigned in her cries. She looked up at him with absolute seriousness.
"Guh, just kill me."
Her body hitched with quiet sobs, her voice thick with tears. "I just hope... I hope you don't tell anyone about me peeing..." She instinctively mumbled the last few words, trying to gloss over them.
Her dramatic emotional shift left Suyan thoroughly amazed. Her request was so dramatic he almost thought he had triggered some sort of bad ending cutscene.
Suyan let out a wry chuckle. "Why would I kill you?"
"But I... I..." Aoi looked at him with red-rimmed eyes. "I... on you..."
"And?" Suyan replied casually. "I don't care."
Aoi wanted to argue, but when she looked into Suyan's eyes, her pupils trembled. She could tell this man wasn't lying; he truly didn't care.
The good news was her life was spared. The bad news was her social death was still an unresolved issue. The best news was that Suyan easily saw through her inner turmoil.
He materialized a Contract Parchment and a pen, handing them to her. "Forget it. Just sign your name on this first, and I'll take care of the rest."
Even Suyan was surprised at how quickly he was forming a Contract with her. But given the circumstances, it seemed unavoidable. He couldn't exactly let her walk out looking like this. It would be fine if only Shinobu and Kanae were around, but as the medical hub of the Demon Slayer Corps, the Butterfly Mansion always had members coming and going. If anyone saw her, she really would die of embarrassment on the spot.
So, what else was there to say? Have her sign the Contract, take her into Greed Island to clean up, and then bring her back.
Since Aoi had passed the Final Selection, her foundational Breathing Style training was undoubtedly solid. She had only stayed behind at the Butterfly Mansion because of her psychological trauma regarding demons. Even if her mastery wasn't enough to maximize the Contract's power, this wasn't the time to be picky. Fate simply had its own plans.
