Chapter 85: Mister, You Smell So Good
"Ma'am, you might not understand if I just say it like this, so let me explain."
Suyan took the glass bottle containing Muzan's demon blood from the restrained demon's hand. He walked over to Kamado Kie, crouched down, and said, "Based on your current injuries, you are practically beyond saving."
"Deep down, you already know this, don't you?"

Kamado Kie instantly broke down in tears. Her gaze hardened into fierce determination, and with a trembling voice, she said, "I leave it to you... please, save us."
"Understood."
Seeing that she had finally made her choice, Suyan didn't hesitate. He held the bottle over Kamado Kie's face.
Kamado Kie cooperated, opening her mouth.
Suyan tilted the bottle, letting a few drops of the demon blood fall onto her tongue.
He only poured a tiny amount. It wasn't that he was being stingy; firstly, he wanted to save some of Muzan's blood for his own experiments. Secondly, based on the Demon Slayer plotline he knew from before he crossed over, he had noticed a pattern.
Generally, humans transformed by Muzan only underwent physical changes. Mentally, they remained largely the same as before, with no massive shifts in personality or intellect.
However, Kamado Nezuko, the female lead, had lost her rationality for quite a long time after becoming a demon. It took a significant amount of time before she could even speak again.
Suyan suspected this might be because she had received far too much of Muzan's blood all at once.
After feeding Kamado Kie, Suyan moved to the other two children and gave them each a small dose of demon blood as well.
As he watched the three of them ingest the blood, a slightly wicked thought crossed Suyan's mind.
In the original anime, the Kamado family was attacked by Muzan, and almost everyone died. Only Kamado Nezuko survived as a demon, eventually developing the ability to freely alter her body size. Because of this, the protagonist, Kamado Tanjiro, carried her around in a wooden box on his back, never putting her down even during battles.
But now, three of his family members were turning into demons at the same time.
Did that mean Tanjiro was going to have to carry three wooden boxes into battle from now on?
Soon after ingesting the demon blood, a healthy, rosy hue began to return to their pale faces.
This was especially apparent in Kamado Takeo and Kamado Rokuta, who had been partially eaten by the demon. Their mangled bodies visibly began to regenerate and heal.
Watching this unfold firsthand, Suyan clicked his tongue in genuine amazement.
Then came the physical mutations. Due to their poverty, Kamado Kie and her children were all quite thin and frail. But now, under the influence of the demon blood, their muscles swelled rapidly, looking as if they were being pumped full of air.
Thick veins bulged across their faces, looking almost like the Byakugan from Naruto. Their teeth elongated, sharpening into beast-like fangs.
In the dead of night.
Six glowing, crimson eyes snapped open in the darkness.
"Mister, you smell so good. Can I take a bite? Just one bite..."
Kamado Kie stood up. Her eyes were burning with a ravenous, starving urge to feed. She looked as though she wanted nothing more than to swallow Suyan whole.
Even her two children, Kamado Takeo and Kamado Rokuta, had crimson light spilling from their eyes. They stood behind Kamado Kie, staring fixedly at Suyan, looking incredibly restless and ready to pounce.
Without waiting for Suyan's answer, the three of them swayed on their feet and began closing in on him. Moving with an eerie synchronization, they spread out slightly from three different angles, aiming to flank him.
Suyan's mouth twitched.
If a gorgeous beauty had said those words to him, he might have entertained it. But Kamado Kie?
He carefully scrutinized the mother of the Demon Slayer protagonists. In terms of styling, she looked like a completely standard, incredibly plain peasant woman.
Going by the timeline, Kamado Kie should be around thirty years old, roughly the same age as Takagi Yuriko. But there was absolutely no comparison between the two. Her skin condition was terrible, and the deep crow's feet around her eyes were impossible to hide.
In such a state, if someone said she was a woman in her forties or fifties, people would probably believe it.
Still, since she could give birth to a beautiful female lead like Kamado Nezuko, she must have been quite the beauty in her youth. It was just that her husband had died early, and the exhausting toil of raising six children—including Tanjiro and Nezuko—single-handedly was enough to wear down a lively, spirited girl like Huang Rong into a haggard Sister Xianglin.

The hunger drive immediately following a demon transformation really was overwhelming.
He remembered that Tamayo was the same; when she was first turned into a demon by Muzan, she lost control and devoured her own children. Kamado Nezuko, too, had been unable to resist attacking her older brother, Tanjiro, when he finally returned home.
Naturally, Suyan didn't assume that the mere debt of saving their lives would somehow trump the bloodlust that even overpowered familial love.
So, he had no choice but to take action and force them to cool off.
Suyan flicked his wrist. Three silvery-white chains Conjured into existence from his hand.
Like silver snakes, they shot forward, wrapping securely around Kamado Kie and her two sons.
