Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 Coach, I Want to Learn Nen

"Did you see that? This technique is called Shu. It's an advanced application of Ten."

Su Yan was satisfied with the girl's reaction. After all, they say interest is the best teacher.

The stronger Busujima Saeko's desire to master Nen became, the better she would learn, and the more he would gain through their contract synchronization.

Su Yan continued his explanation. "Shu is a technique where you use the principles of Ten to extend your aura beyond your body and wrap it around an object."

"Using Shu on a stone makes it harder, allowing it to shatter other stones without breaking itself, just like the demonstration I did with the tissue earlier."

"If used on a shovel, even the hardest bedrock would feel as easy to dig through as pudding."

"But you don't need to worry about this technique for now. As a beginner, just focus on mastering the basic Ten. Enveloping your body in Nen during an attack can produce similar results."

Su Yan paused for a moment to give Busujima Saeko a better visual demonstration.

He wrapped Nen around his index finger and poked the floor, easily carving a small hole into the ground.

"Amazing!"

Busujima Saeko exclaimed in genuine awe.

It was clearly just a soft finger, and he hadn't even seemed to use much force.

Yet, with Nen, he could effortlessly pierce the hard floor.

Su Yan felt a bit pleased by the girl's praise but kept a composed expression as he continued the lesson.

"Next is Zetsu. By containing your aura and presence within your body, you achieve this effect."

As he spoke, Su Yan activated Zetsu right in front of her.

His presence vanished instantly.

"What a terrifying ability!"

Busujima Saeko gasped, her mouth slightly agape.

Su Yan was standing right there, and her eyes could clearly see him, yet she couldn't sense him at all. It was as if her brain was being deceived.

Busujima Saeko reached out and tried to touch Su Yan's body.

Fortunately, he hadn't disappeared; she could still feel him.

It felt incredibly strange. Her hand was clearly touching him, but her stubborn mind refused to acknowledge his existence.

The girl couldn't help but marvel, "Even the greatest ninjas in history probably couldn't achieve anything like this."

Su Yan curled his lip in disdain. What were the ninjas of this island nation compared to anything? Could they travel to other planets to plant trees like the Otsutsuki Clan?

At most, they were just ordinary people.

"There is something to watch out for with this technique. While in Zetsu, a Nen user's body is completely defenseless against Nen attacks."

"Against a Nen attack, the body in this state is as fragile as tofu."

"However, using Zetsu while injured allows the body to recover much faster," Su Yan added.

"I understand."

Busujima Saeko nodded solemnly, committing Su Yan's words to memory.

"Next is Ren. This technique opens all the aura nodes on your body, allowing a Nen user to rapidly release far more aura than usual."

Su Yan exited Zetsu and continued, "I will demonstrate Ren now. Get ready."

"Ready?"

Busujima Saeko was visibly confused.

She had only just been introduced to Nen and barely understood it. What kind of preparation could she possibly make for the technique he was about to show?

Besides, if it was an offensive technique like Ten, there was no point in preparing.

She certainly couldn't block it. No matter how much she trained, her body would never be harder than stone.

'Does he want me to get ready to dodge?'

Busujima Saeko nodded blankly. "I'm ready."

"You're ready, then," Su Yan repeated.

Her nerves were taut as she entered a combat stance. Her muscles were tense, and her eyes remained fixed on Su Yan without blinking.

She wanted to make sure she could see and react the moment Su Yan used this so-called Ren.

"Hah!"

Su Yan gave a sharp shout to warn her.

Then, all the aura nodes in his body opened, releasing a massive amount of aura toward Busujima Saeko.

Feeling the impact of the Nen, her body instinctively retreated.

Even though she was somewhat mentally prepared thanks to his warning, she was still horrified by the aura he released.

To her, Su Yan seemed to have transformed into a terrifying prehistoric beast, while she was merely a helpless mouse.

Even though she kept telling herself that this was the same junior student she had known for a year, not some monster, and that she wasn't a mouse...

Her body wouldn't listen and continued to back away.

She only stopped when her back hit the classroom wall.

Yet the terror coursing through her body didn't diminish in the slightest.

Large beads of sweat rolled down her temples. In this state, she probably couldn't even pick up a sword if she were given one.

It had nothing to do with weakness; it was more like the fury of nature descending upon a human.

It was like a naked person walking through a frozen wasteland; courage alone couldn't ignore the cold.

Su Yan wasn't surprised by her reaction at all.

During the Heaven's Arena arc of Hunter x Hunter, Gon and Killua had fared just as poorly when facing Hisoka's aura on the 200th floor.

At that time, Gon had already passed the testing gate trial at Killua's home, possessing the strength to push open a four-ton door.

And Killua, the most gifted child of a top assassin family, had been raised with the best training and could push open a sixteen-ton door.

By ordinary standards, they were already superhumans.

Yet, before learning Nen, they couldn't even move toward Hisoka when faced with his mere aura.

For someone who didn't know Nen, a projected aura was essentially a dimensionality strike.

It was the ultimate crowd-clearing skill.

Although Su Yan's Nen wasn't as strong as Hisoka's, he had the Emission-type Nen synchronized from Marikawa Shizuka.

In terms of projecting aura, he wasn't necessarily inferior to Hisoka, whose Transmutation type was separated from Emission by Enhancement.

Su Yan withdrew his aura and walked over to Busujima Saeko. "Are you alright, Saeko-senpai?"

"I..."

Just as she was about to answer, the sudden withdrawal of his aura caused her tense body to go limp.

Her strength failed her, and her legs buckled.

Seeing her about to fall, Su Yan reached out and caught her in his arms.

The unique fragrance of the girl wafted into his nose.

Come to think of it, this was probably the closest contact he had had with Busujima Saeko since his reincarnation.

However, Su Yan was no naive boy; he wasn't about to get carried away by such minor contact.

After helping her steady herself, he immediately let go.

But he failed to notice the faint reluctance in her eyes as they separated.

She stared at him blankly for a moment before her gaze slowly turned resolute.

'I want to be closer to Su Yan. I want to understand this man more, to keep pace with him and enter the world he lives in...'

'Even if it is only for the sake of the warmth I felt just now.'

'That is why...'

"Su Yan, I want to learn Nen."

At that moment, her resolve was firmer than ever before.
