Ivan was annoyed by Emily Turner's presence at first. But just as he was about to lose control, his phone buzzed, and he looked down to see Daniel's familiar message on the screen.
[Don't overdo things and come back home soon. I have a lot to talk to you about.]
It was a simple message that made Ivan smile, and he looked up to see Emily's bewildered expression looking back at him.
He scowled, not liking how she was looking at him…or rather, at his phone. No one was supposed to know about the message he was receiving from Daniel, and Emily Turner was no exception.
"You look…happy. Did someone special message you?"
Emily asked in a small voice. Her eyes looked curious, but she was trying her hardest to not show how curious she was about the message.
Ivan did not answer her. Instead of looking at her, he focused on Daniel's message and quickly replied to him.
