Daniel's irritation simmered down by the time the food came out. Joshua was a good judge, and he calmed down and pulled his punches when he realized that Daniel was reaching his limit to endure.
He stirred the conversation in a way that was both experienced and sad to see. Daniel felt bad for the younger brother who had clearly gone through some tough times.
Joshua noticed his concerns and quickly got a laugh.
"Don't worry too much about me. It's not your fault I grew up like that. But more importantly, isn't it taking them too long to bring the food out? Should I go and inquire about this?"
Joshua asked, but just as he was about to get up and question the staff, the waiter came back with their food on the plate. The blush on the waiter's face told Daniel that he was still not over what happened.
But he was keeping his emotions in check as he put the plates down and gave them a small bow.
