Scarlett's POV
"We're looking into everyone who has access to silver-tipped poisoned arrows," Liam added, his green eyes still dark and heavy from the kiss I had given him. He walked over, standing right in front of the couch where I sat, his towering frame casting a massive shadow over me. "It's rare, and it's expensive. Whoever bought it has deep pockets and deep connections."
Leo didn't stay by the desk for long. He walked over to the couch, sliding his body down right behind me. His large, bare chest pressed against my back, and his long arms wrapped around my waist, his hands sliding underneath his own oversized shirt to rest flat against the bare skin of my stomach.
I mean, can you blame him for being needy? He might have gotten his satisfaction earlier, but the terror of the attack was still humming through his veins. Having him hold me like a human shield was honestly comforting.
