" My my, if my old eyes do not deceive me, it looks like we found her" the Elder that seemed to look older than he could possible be, steps forward. Rumors amongst the recruits say that he was cursed long ago to live forever but to keep aging, but he always talks to family lineage. His bald head shined under the light as he hobbled over to Marshall and Maiven.
He places an old hand on Marshall's arm, moving him to stand aside with a small shake. Another elder steps forward ignoring Marshall and his friend. With hard lines to his face but younger looking as he still fights off stubborn grey hair. Both studied the angelic like woman before them, one seemingly excited while the other more wary.
" Athanasia, It's our pleasure to finally meet you, we have been searching for you for a long time." The older man spoke with a slight bow to his head as if he were greeting a very important figure.
The woman smiled at the older man, an expression of almost amusement. " You and others most likely" she pauses to brush her newly unknotted hair over her shoulder. " Shall I ask why or is this more of an imprisonment then just a finding?" Her smile dropped.
Marshall and the other two men stood a bit baffled by the elders' actions. Those were their leaders, their bosses, yet one simply.showed respect for a random creature they found in a coffin. Marshall looked at Seth and Maiven for some sort of explanation of who this woman was but between Maive drooling over the questions flowing through his mind and Seth still seeming uninterested, he had nothing.
" wait, Athanasia? The god born woman that is Supposed to be related to the vampire king?" Maiven asks after a short moment of silence, not able to hold in questions any longer. The woman frowned deeply and turned her beautiful gaze onto the red headed man.
" I have no blood relation to that creature, we were simply created at the same moment." She snears as her thoughts fill with that bastards face. Marshall and the elders look at Maive, Marshall the only one with a confused look on his face.
"Our weapon to defeat lucius is his sister that supposedly helped him destroy kingdoms? How in the nine circles do you expect her to help us?" Marshall paused the rest of the conversation, finally connecting to his old memories of history classes as a novice trainee. This creature helped cause so much death and sorrow, he glared at her. The tingling in his head still hard to ignore, electricity zapping him to move closer to her. This made him even more frustrated.
The elders glare at Marshall before turning their attention back to the ancient woman. " There is more to the story than legends tell, we have kept it a secret for long as to avoid others from searching for her." The younger of the two hissed at Marshall.
" I refuse" was all the woman said before anymore of the conversation continued. Everyone but her paused, " refuse? At least hear us out for a moment" the bald elder almost pleaded. Athanasia stood from where she had been sitting on the edge of the open coffin.
Her ancient robed dress still looking elegant on her as it sat decaying while she moved closer to the group of men. Standing between the elders and Marshall she only paused then to look at the young man for a split second longer than even she expected.
Something seemed all too familiar about Marshall to the woman, as if she already knew him from before. As impossible as the thought seemed she still couldn't help but be curious. Their eyes lock, Marshall held his stern expression while she let hers slip to a small smile before turning back to the older men.
" I will not get involved with that creature any longer, I've spent too much of my time dealing with his messes." The white haired woman stood her ground with a cross of her arms. " Do any of you fine men know what it is like watching someone you grew up with, kill, maim, and destroy that which you find most happiness with, that you love?" She asks beginning a small circle around the group of men.
It took a few looks of confusion and frustrated eye rolls before anyone spoke again. " We would not ask this of you normally but you don't know what He has done to our world while you've been away." The eldest of the two old men spoke up again. " My great Grandfather passed your story down until his dying breath because he knew you would be needed in the future."
Stopping in front of the elevator door, Athansia paused at the elders words. " what has he done to make you bring me back to this hell?" She looks at the old man as if he were a microscopic enzyme. The man stepped forward by himself and placed his hands together before kneeling on the ground.
The motion was stiff and painful in his old age, causing the greying Elder behind him to reach out to help as he glared daggers at the woman. " He started with the shape shifters, ravaged them with war, burned their cities and killed their loved ones. Then while his minions kept the leaders busy, Lucius stole their realm stone."
