Linda could not believe the news when it reached her.
Her friend... her queen... her sister in all but blood had been murdered in cold blood by her own son.
Her legs felt weak as she hurried toward the royal bedchambers. Every servant she passed wore the same expression of disbelief. The entire palace had fallen into chaos, yet an eerie silence lingered over the corridors, as though the walls themselves were mourning.
When Linda stepped inside the king's chambers, the metallic scent of blood immediately hit her.
Her breathing hitched.
The once majestic room was stained with the blood of the king and queen. White linen had now been carefully draped over their bodies, hiding the gruesome wounds they had suffered. Enzo stood quietly beside them, his royal robes still soaked in blood, his expression devoid of emotion. He looked less like a prince and more like a man who had lost everything in a single night.
Linda lowered her head, tears burning behind her eyes.
