"The Tower." the words hung in the air for a few seconds before Elowen spoke up again
"The tower is humanity's greatest friend and enemy it provided both monsters and powers to fight them. Whether the tower is sentient or not is not know to us but there are things new players must know before entering the tower. First, the tower works in a series of 10 that is there are no breaks from stage 1 to 10, 10 to 20, 30 to 40 and so on. Second, i will not hide the fact that most of you wont survive the first 10 stage sequence of the tower. Third, each 10 stage sequence has a specific theme to it the first 10 are called the tutorial after each sequence you can enter a lounge area or leave the tower. Fourth, there are hidden events in the tower that only happen when specific conditions are met and that's all there is to the tower. Any question?" Elowen's eye showed a emotion that was very familiar to Kaelen was it sadness or was it something else Kaelen couldn't put a finger on it.
A few people in the crowd raised their hands and Elowen answered most of them no question stood out to Kaelen and suddenly Elowen pointed to Kaelen he was stunned as he noticed his arm was raised
"Switch with me." Lucian said internally
Kaelen followed Lucian's instruction
"Sir i have noticed that we posses a inventory feature so what i mean to ask is why do we still use porters in dungeons?" Lucian asked out of genuine curiosity.
The crowd looked at Elowen with new found curiosity Elowen spoke up
"That's a really good question my brown haired friend why do we use porters when we have the inventory feature well you see not all players are honest some hide the loot from the dungeons so unawakened people are used as porters since they don't posses the system."
Elowen answered more questions as he made the final announcement
"I guess all of you are ready then please walk towards the tower till you get a notification on the status screen, i wish you all the best." Elowen left the stage as soon as he finished his sentence.
Everyone started walking towards the tower and Kaelen soon followed as he was walking a notification popped up reading
[Would you like to participate in the tower?]
[Yes/No]
Kaelen thought for a minute after what he heard Elowen say but he pressed yes anyways he thought "Whatever the tower will throw at me can not be that bad right? I mean we have so many unique skills."
Kaelen was soon about to find out how wrong he was, as soon as he clicked on the yes button he was covered by blue pixels and he was teleported to the first sequence of stages before anything a message appeared in front of him
[Welcome to the tutorial player.]
[Please clear the tutorial to move to the next sequence of stages.]
[Since this place is the tutorial all unique skills will be sealed.]
[All the best. We hope you survive.]
The third line on the screen hit Kaelen like a semi truck which had its wheels on fire. The blue icons of the skills had turned gray they were just ten people in a single weak body without their skills.
"N-No unique skills???" Kaelen said to Lucian
"Fuck." Lucian said in worried tone which was extremely rare
No one word could describe how fucked the ten of them were they only thing they had rooting for them was also disabled.
"WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T ELOWEN TELL US THIS? OH THATS WHY THAT BASTARD WAS SAD." screamed Kaelen internally.
The reason for their panic was rather justified they didn't posses good stats to beat the creatures of the tower. The first stage of the tutorial was a forest with monsters and creatures over flowing the entire stage. Kaelen was in a place separated by other players. It was the same for every player and another notification popped up in front of Kaelen's eyes
