I adjusted my glasses as Rina stepped in, her perfume wafting through the room. I did not raise my head while she took a seat in front of me.
"The full-body reports are back," she said. Something in her hoarse, raspy voice made my pen pause against the paper.
"Is something the matter?" I questioned.
"Just some unprecedented elements I think you'll need to note."
I glanced up, eyeing the report in her hand, before returning my gaze to the document that still preoccupied me. My mind still reeled from the revelations of a mere few hours ago—questions that had yet to be answered. There had to be a plausible explanation, and the maggot would soon be forced to provide the answers I sought.
But for now…
"Read the report to me," I ordered. She obliged.
