Before long, Fang Yu and Tang Yue reached a rocky islet.

Once the shadow was immobilized, the body itself could no longer move even an inch.
The battlefield instantly fell into an eerie silence.
"Run."
Fang Yu could sense even more Devouring Perch Beasts gathering beneath the islet, preparing to leap out of the water.
Spreading his Ice Wings, he grabbed Tang Yue and immediately beat his wings, trying to gain altitude as quickly as possible.
They needed to get away from the islet.
But the Devouring Perch Beasts reacted and moved with incredible speed.
They burst out of the water, lunging through the air straight toward Fang Yu and Tang Yue.
In an instant, the sky above the islet darkened as the enormous black bodies of the Devouring Perch Beasts blocked out nearly all the light.
Faced with their savage assault, Fang Yu had no choice but to halt his ascent and deal with the immediate danger.
"Telekinesis: Repel!"
A dazzling silver glow suddenly flashed through Fang Yu's eyes. Clenching his left hand, he violently flung every Devouring Perch Beast that had leaped into the air back down.
"Summon Beast!"
The Golden Ape appeared instantly.
It leaped high into the air, while surging black energy erupted from its body. With both palms, it slammed a Devouring Skull Beast flying.
Buzz...
The black energy condensed into countless sharp, cone-shaped projectiles that spun rapidly as they shot toward the swarm of Devouring Perch Beasts.
This was the power the Golden Ape had gained after advancing to Commander-level, allowing it to release its dark energy externally.
Boom...
The black energy instantly invaded the Devouring Perch Beasts' bodies, shredding them from within.
Explosions echoed throughout the battlefield.
"Heavenly Flame Funeral!"
Tang Yue also found an opening to attack.
A massive crimson cloud of flames appeared overhead.
Within the fiery cloud, heavenly flames rained down continuously. At first, they fell softly and silently, but they quickly became an overwhelming torrent.
Heavenly Flame Funeral covered an enormous area. Torrents of flames poured down, engulfing every Devouring Perch Beast charging from every direction.
The beasts let out shrill screams as they struggled amid the blazing rain.
Large numbers of Devouring Perch Beasts fell back into the water one after another.
"Roar! Roar!!!"
The river connected directly to the sea. Whenever these Devouring Skull Beasts encountered powerful Mages while hunting, they would summon more of their kind from the surrounding waters, calling endless reinforcements to join the battle.
What neither of them had expected, however, was that the commotion had awakened a slumbering Commander-level Devouring Perch Beast.
"We really can't underestimate these sea demons."
Seeing the sleeping Commander-class demon join the battle, Fang Yu let out a long sigh.
"Little Snow Girl!"
"Ice Domain!"
"Eight Directions Ice Pillars!"
Little Snow Girl drifted out from the Contract Space and immediately unleashed her domain. The icy aura rapidly intensified. The azure ice seemed to conceal countless invisible blades, possessing astonishing cutting power.
Within Little Snow Girl's Ice Domain, eight towering ice tornadoes materialized, leaving the Commander-level Devouring Skull Beasts that had leaped from the water with nowhere to escape. Their bodies were dyed icy blue as freezing frost bound and immobilized them.
"Air Cannon!"
At the same time, Fang Yu had already finished preparing his Space Element magic. His eyes narrowed sharply, and a tremendous shockwave suddenly rippled through the air.
The newly awakened Commander-level Devouring Skull Beast, already frozen solid, was struck as though hit by an enormous artillery shell. It was blasted violently backward, its body twisting grotesquely in midair.

The Commander-Level Devouring Perch Beast was completely stunned.

Looking at the towering columns of seawater rising into the sky, Fang Yu felt his scalp go numb.
At that moment, the only thing he could think of was to bombard the massive waves relentlessly in order to slow their formation.
He transformed into a merciless spell-casting machine, unleashing magic nonstop across the surging waves.
Blue, crimson, and silver lights flashed one after another.
Only then were the enormous waves finally shattered.
"That level of combat power, it's nothing someone his age should be capable of. A brilliant new star of the magic world is about to rise."
Tang Yue sighed in admiration.
"Let's go! While that demon is still being suppressed, we need to retreat!"
Seeing the Commander-Level Devouring Perch Beast beginning to gather another massive wave, Fang Yu immediately urged.
Without wasting another second, the two of them soared back into the sky and fled the area.
Behind them, the entire reef was torn apart by the raging waters.
The Devouring Perch Beast King raised its enormous head from the sea in the distance, roaring madly, clearly unwilling to let them escape.
Beneath the boundless starry sky, a crimson glow flickered atop a cliff.
After racing all the way there, Fang Yu and Tang Yue arrived above it.
Built atop the cliff was an enormous bird's nest.
Below the cliff lay piles upon piles of bones.
One glance was enough to tell that this was the nest of an extremely ferocious demon.
Fang Yu frowned.
This creature was anything but ordinary.
Among the heaps of bones, he spotted the skeletons of seven or eight different kinds of demons.
Fresh blood still clung to many of them.
Judging by the traces, they had been devoured not long ago.
"There are even Commander-Class creatures among them and they still ended up as its prey."
The enormous nest had been constructed from withered trees and radiated a fierce, murderous aura.
The cliff wall beside it was filled with the lingering scent of blood, undoubtedly left behind whenever the vicious bird demon fed.
Tang Yue spread her Wing-Type Magic Equipment and circled high above.
"Hm? It's not in the nest."
She sounded surprised.
She quickly folded her wings and descended, landing directly inside the nest.
The withered branches were thick and extremely sturdy, yet the interior of the nest had been lined with soft, dry grass.
It was surprisingly clean and comfortable.
