Leo's pupils shook. "You are…crazy, a mad woman." He was out of breath.
"Or so I've been told, insults to my rationality aren't really the most intuitive ones.
Be more creative boy." She harboured the same grin as earlier.
Leo took a deep inhalation of air whilst closing his rage filled eyes.
Then he exhaled, with a hot air following his breathe.
"I have a question…" Leo requested with a strangely calm tone.
"What a selfish one you are, questioning me but refusing to answer answer the curiosities of mine.
But fine, I'll entertain you…I'll answer five questions of yours, in return you answer five of mine." she offered a deal.
"…" There was silence between them, Leo hesitated in accepting her offer.
"If she wants an answer from me it would be something really important…do I want to risk it, what If it aids her in encroaching our world.
No…this is finally a second chance, rarely does the world give second chances like this. " Leo's eyes widened. "I accept."
"Good, carry on child." She folded her arms on her chest.
"When you said this was your territory, what did you mean by that" Leo said to her. "Gather the most important pieces of information…"
"What else could a territory mean, the area of your aether's influence, where it remains yours and solely yours.
There is more to it, but it is a something you should already be familiar with." She replied.
Leo was hit with chills. "What she calls territory is what we call our zone…so you're telling me this entire place is her zone.
I can't even see the end, strength like this…How did she obtain it." questioning was by far the most powerful weapon in Leo's arsenal.
Qestions that branched from other questions which led to new ones — It was a trigger for his curiosity, and his usually overshadowed most other emotions.
As long as those weren't satiated he could keep his head in this situation although not completely composed; not nearly as good as Fiona's gift.
"No, I'll quell that question for now, let's take this one at a time.
On to the next one." Leo's eyes began twirling
"You used aether without a halo didn't you, why were you surprised when I did?" He asked.
The lady spread both of her palms open in front of Leo, he had no idea what he was looking at, he stared at them with the same outcome.
"One can choose what form the halo's take, do you understand now?" The lady did not need to say more than that — she pulled back her palms.
He nodded, and gulped. "I noticed it from Luka and even the memory but never thought I'd see them being worn as rings.
Even more than that, I thought the limit to the halo's were six but she has seven, even in the memory she had only six.
Truly what is this being." His curiosity didn't deter perplexity from unravelling on the scarred face of his.
He looked up to the sky and the thing that was falling down had become larger. "Im running out of time."
Without any hesitation he asked his next question; "Why did you attack earth.."
"Hmm, that isn't a question I'd answer, it's something your world is supposed to know of already.
I say you seek answers within your world." She replied.
"Within our world?
Then that question was a waste, the next two has to count." Leo wiped the blood off his face.
"What happens if we don't pass your trial?" He asked, only one more question was left now.
"It would only make my descent immediate, since each person that fails reduces the time by a month.
With so many of you here that would make it instant.
The opposite happens when they pass, hence the reason you take the trials at all." She turned her back to him.
Leo covered his mouth with his palm "We've made such a huge mistake.
Couldn't the messenger have at least written this part down, it seems too huge to be left out.
So the bad thing that occurs after twelve months elapse is the commandments descending upon our world.
She said her's is simple so we can probably pass this easily..., no I can't be so trusting." Leo gripped his staff even tighter.
"Now it's the last one, I'm curious as to what you will ask." The lady twisted strands of hair with her fingers.
She wasn't the only one curious, so was Leo, there were still so many questions left, so many to choose yet so little time.
"Which would benefit us to learn about the most;
The next commandments would be good.
Maybe ask about the messenger, or maybe even the voice.
It could even be about the path of obscurity." Leo sighed, he couldn't make a choice.
"Your question first." Leo said in an effort to buy time.
The smile that had vanished from her face gradually reappeared.
"What is she going to ask me." Leo contemplated his choice of questions with his worry lingering as well.
He looked up again, it was only getting closer.
"The ones that were killed by Vegro and her spawns, what was the colour of their blood?
How did they die, was it interesting to watch, did their screams fill the surroundings, most of all…
Did they suffer?
Hey, tell me, tell me." she held Leo by his hands and asked him all five questions at a go.
His eye twitched, the twirling stopped — Leo looked down. ( "I'm sorry Leo, I failed you all" [bang!]
Marcus!!!!) The memories played in his mind on repeat, his forehead contorted and his anger was bare on his face.
"Hmm hmm, you don't have to say anything, your face says it all." Her voice seemed joyous.
"I'm sorry everyone I think I'll be a little selfish on this one." Leo gripped his staff very strongly.
He looked up at her staring right at her face.
"My last question-
How do you kill an immortal being?" Leo asked.
