This is something I've had on my mind for a while now. This is heavily inspired by Absolute Martian Manhunter, and VERY loosely takes inspiration from some parts of MHA. So no characters from there, except MAYBE MAYBE AFO or OFA, the setting is different, it is in a different time, and a different country.
No romance, no system, no OP protag, no power fantasy, no anime nonsense, and only a few things you can actually recognize from MHA. The MC also has original powers and he is a relatively normal good guy, so no psycho business. He is a working adult so he will have a lot of personal struggles
Might add more to notes as things goes on.
Ps a lot of this stuff is still planning things out don't expect chapters consistently anytime soon.
I think I got an idea of a central theme. It is loneliness and a struggle to connect with others, combine that with empath powers and you got some internal conflict going. Let's see, what if a socially awkward guy get telepathy, what would he do?
I do want some martial arts fights going on, I do want some Wing Chun and Bajiquan, maybe Jeet Kune Do. I'm doing this mainly because I think it's cool but to do it I'll need to render some aspects of his ability "unusable" for the time of the fight. Maybe a counter or he has to split his powers. Food for thought.
Alot of fics tend to make omnipotent beings or gods approachable or relatable. I want something with more substance. I'll have to read Lovecraft but I want my guy to be on some level "unperceivable", you can't even begin to describe it's appearance because it's beyond appearance. It's more of a feeling, even then it's enough to drive you mad. I'm thinking it's in and beyond a fractal, infinitely big and small at the same time yet even more so? Hmmm tough cookie
What kind of world am I trying to build? Hmm. Well I would want racial and ethic tension, maybe. Or even immigration, though I will have to read more on that. Discrimination is definitely in though, that's the entire reason I came up with the concept.

Come to think of it what kind of side character would I want. A girl exactly the MCs type and likes him too. But both of them do nothing about it and nothing happens. Wait he can read minds, so he knows but still won't do anything.
I want my readers to feel something. Complicated is the emotion I want. Disturbed is a close second. I guess Im just that kinda guy
I want him to kinda have a partner now. He won't be strong so he needs someone to carry him sometimes. I thinking a woman with light powers.
Villain idea #1 someone obsessed with fantasy creatures and has the ability to bring them to life. They hate the mundanity of the world so the love fantasy. This kinda person is real. I think they just like the novelty of it. If dragons were real they won't care.
Villain idea #2 someone that thinks he is the only sentient being in the world. And genuinely to thinks others are mindless drones or npcs
