[Jake's POV]
The hills of Coloane were a different world.
Down in the peninsula, Macau was all neon and exhaust and people stacked on top of each other. Up here, the air was cool. It smelled like pine and wet dirt. The road wound up the mountain in slow curves, and the city lights below looked small.
I sat in the passenger seat of a black sedan that cost nothing and drew no attention. Ethan was driving. He was tapping his fingers on the wheel. Fast. Nervous.
Through the trees, you could just see it. A ten-foot stone wall. Gray. Old. Wrapped around a whole hillside.
That was Mei-Ling Zhao's estate.
"Overwatch, talk to me," I murmured. I adjusted the collar of my suit. The fabric was stiff. Dark. Meant to disappear in shadow.
