Chapter 19 - Sakurai Clan?

When mentioning the Conservative Faction of the Jujutsu World, one must mention the principal of Kyoto Jujutsu High, Gakuganji Yoshinobu. Like Masamichi, he is a First-Grade Sorcerer, but his level of conservatism is terrifying.

In the original story, he was the primary advocate for killing Yuji. Even after Yuji was forcibly protected by Satoru, he still intended to kill Yuji during the exchange event.

And such a stubborn old man was now sitting on the sofa opposite Renji.

Inside the principal's office of Kyoto Jujutsu High.

"Principal Gakuganji, Special Grade Sorcerer Okkotsu Renji has arrived." An accompanying Semi-Grade One Sorcerer said.

Gakuganji Yoshinobu slowly raised his eyes, his white eyebrows trembling slightly. "First time meeting you, Okkotsu Renji. I am the principal of Kyoto Jujutsu High, Gakuganji Yoshinobu."

His voice was raspy, but it lacked no confidence or penetration. He looked to be in his seventies or eighties, yet the strength in his speech remained undiminished.

"Hello. So, what do you want with me?" Renji showed a polite smile.

"I do indeed have a matter to discuss with you." Gakuganji Yoshinobu's bulging eyes showed no emotion.

"Okkotsu, half a year ago, your clan was wiped out by a Special Grade Cursed Spirit. Yaga took several First-Grade Sorcerers to the rescue. However, except for Yaga, all those First-Grade Sorcerers from Jujutsu High were killed, indirectly causing Jujutsu High to lose hundreds of millions of yen."

"Do you know how long it takes to train a First-Grade Sorcerer? How much money? How much talent is required?"

Gakuganji Yoshinobu picked up the green tea on the table and took a large gulp as if to quench his thirst.

Seeing that Renji remained silent, Gakuganji Yoshinobu continued, "That terrifying Special Grade Cursed Spirit appeared because of you. Originally, you should have been sentenced to death, but that fellow Yaga saved your life."

"But now, shortly after your promotion to Special Grade, you've attracted a Special Grade Cursed Spirit to Kyoto. Do you know what price the Jujutsu Supervisors have to pay to settle the disturbance when there's no Curtain during the battle?"

"If I report to the higher-ups of the Jujutsu World that you caused a Special Grade Cursed Spirit riot, both you and Yaga will die."

Renji narrowed his eyes. He understood now, this old geezer wanted to extort him. He wasn't just using his life as a threat, but was also linking it to Masamichi's life.

"Just say it, stop wasting time. What do you want me to do?" Renji's tone was cold.

He was currently calculating how to scam this old geezer back.

Gakuganji Yoshinobu looked up, his tone hard to read. "In Akihabara, besides the Okkotsu Clan, there is another Jujutsu clan called the Sakurai clan. They want to break The Big Three Families' dominance and become the fourth big family. So they approached me and asked me to help them with this."

What is the Sakurai Clan? Could it be that these things appeared because of me?

But speaking of which, the Okkotsu Clan isn't actually from Akihabara, but from Sendai, the same hometown as Yuji.

"And?" Renji was somewhat confused.

"To become one of the Big Three, one must have an Inherited Technique. And your Okkotsu Clan has one, which is currently still sealed within the Okkotsu Clan grounds."

"Your mission is to stop the Sakurai Clan from seizing the Inherited Technique within the Okkotsu Clan Ruins and crush their dream of becoming the fourth big family."

Gakuganji Yoshinobu stood up and walked to the window. He gently stroked the electric guitar at his feet, it was his favorite.

"You don't plan on helping them?" Renji asked.

"I am old. I don't like doing things that change the rules."

"Cunning old geezer."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm praising your vitality."

"Thank you."

The conversation ended.

About ten minutes later.

Seeing that Renji hadn't left, Gakuganji Yoshinobu's long eyebrows furrowed, and he asked, "Why haven't you left yet?"

"Old geezer, you know, although I'm a Special Grade, I don't have any weapons, and I don't even have abilities like Cursed Techniques. I only have Cursed Energy to rely on." Renji sprawled on the sofa, looking like a rogue.

Gakuganji Yoshinobu felt a wave of disgust but forced himself to look at Renji. "Go ask your teacher."

Renji narrowed his eyes. "I say, old geezer, you want the horse to run but won't let it graze. Your scheme is so obvious it's hitting me in the face."

Gakuganji Yoshinobu's eyes twitched. "Aren't you afraid I'll report to the Jujutsu World?"

"Besides me, you have no one else to use."

Gakuganji Yoshinobu fell silent.

This little brat was right. As a famous Special Grade Sorcerer, Yuki had countless missions. And aside from a Special Grade, no one else could take down the Okkotsu Clan Ruins.

Although Yuki had visited before and said it was terrifying, the actual explanation given to the Higher-Ups was that it could be solved, but it would take time.

As a conservative, and under the push of the Sakurai Clan, Gakuganji Yoshinobu had set his sights on the other Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer, Renji. He only needed to send Renji. This way, he could clear the Cursed Spirits and crush the Sakurai Clan's dream.

"Tsk... fine. What do you want?" Gakuganji Yoshinobu's face was grim.

"Two Cursed Tools and two Cursed Objects, none lower than First-Grade." Renji's lips curled up slightly.

Hearing this request, Gakuganji Yoshinobu's aged face immediately turned flushed red.

"Oh? Old geezer, are you blushing?"

"That's because I'm damn well furious."

Two First-Grade Cursed Tools and two First-Grade Cursed Objects?

Is this brat joking?

Keep in mind, in the Cursed Object warehouse of Kyoto Jujutsu High, there were only about a dozen First-Grade Cursed Tools. As for First-Grade Cursed Objects, there were no more than twelve. Among those, fifty percent belonged to The Big Three Families, and the rest were Gakuganji Yoshinobu's life savings.

"Impossible." Gakuganji Yoshinobu snorted, his aged face full of indignation.

"Old geezer, you wouldn't want the rules of the Jujutsu World to be rewritten, would you? Hehehe."

"One! One of each."

"No, two of each."

"Two is too many. I can only give you one of each."

"Then I'm not taking the job. You can't keep me here anyway. I'm going back to sleep, I have to return to Tokyo tomorrow."

"You brat! Dammit, the most I can agree to is one Cursed Tool and two Cursed Objects."

"Deal, old geezer."

That night.

Renji and Suguru walked through the Cursed Object warehouse of Kyoto Jujutsu High. Behind them were six teachers who were First-Grade Sorcerers.

"Okkotsu, you didn't sell yourself out, did you?" Suguru rubbed his chin and looked around. The Cursed Objects nearby were at least Second-Grade.

"How could that be? Come help me see if there's anything good."
