"Sakuya, Gobta is still so scared of you."
Kaito watched Gobta suddenly spring back to life with a mischievous smile and glanced at Sakuya beside him.
"As my disciple, he still needs more training."
"Oh come on, Sakuya, you don't have to be so strict with him. He's doing great. Being happy matters most!"
Seeing Sakuya's serious expression, Kaito couldn't help but put in a good word for his little brother. After all, he and Rimuru had given the guy plenty of grief themselves.
"I plan to hand the Imperial Guard Legion over to him entirely once this is done, so he needs to grow up fast."
Hearing that, Kaito looked over at Gobta cutting enemies down one after another and gave him a sympathetic look.
'Little brother, may the heavens bless you.'
'System, let me do a passionate sign-in while this fiery scene is still going!'
[Ding. Congratulations, Host, for obtaining a complete set of Stellar Human Federation Starship Construction Technology!]
[Starship Construction Technology:]
[Includes complete construction technology for Titans, Battleships, Carriers, Cruisers, Destroyers, Frigates, and more.]
[Do you like Planet Crackers? Or do you prefer the Angel of Mercy? By the way, your home has been turned into ore!]
'Holy crap! It's actually this! Hahahahaha! We're about to take off! Our journey is the sea of stars!'
'From today, I will never allow anyone to speak loudly to me again!'
[Host!!! Do you still want your technology!!!]
'Hehe, yes, yes, yes!!!'
"Heh heh heh... Hahahaha... Wahahahahaha!!! Keke keke keke!"
Imagining the scene of leading his fleet to blow up planets... no, engage in free trade... Kaito couldn't stop himself from cycling through all four modes of unhinged laughter.
"Kai-chan, what's wrong? You're not going crazy again, are you?!"
Rimuru looked at Kaito suddenly losing himself beside her and asked with a puzzled expression.
"Hehe, you'll find out later. I'm going to give you a super big surprise!"
Kaito raised an eyebrow at her with a mysterious look.
"Eh? Really? Then I'm looking forward to it!"
"Hmph hmph, just wait for it! Oh, and this game should end now."
With that, Kaito's figure vanished from the spot in an instant.
"Sirzechs, take care of yourself..."
Serafall said it quietly, and turned to flee the scene with a sorrowful expression.
But before she could go anywhere, Kaito appeared in the middle of the group.
"Kaito-sama! *3"
"Master! *3"
"Oh my, it seems you've come to end things."
Guy Crimson looked at Kaito appearing among them with a smile.
"That's right. I think it's about time. And I've got a new toy I need to figure out how to deploy, so let's wrap this up."
"Sirzechs, stop. I'll give you a chance to surrender."
Kaito looked at Sirzechs, who was covered in blood, and spoke calmly.
"If we surrender, what happens to us?"
Serafall, who hadn't had time to escape, quickly asked.
"Hmm... what happens to you. The entire Devil race gets incorporated into the Jura Tempest Federation and accepts its leadership."
"What you do after that is your own choice."
"As for someone like Sirzechs, I'd recommend he join the Department of Political Affairs. I can appoint him directly as Deputy Chief Political Officer."
"And you... forget it, just keep being your Magical Girl."
"That's it?"
Sirzechs and Serafall stared at Kaito with stunned expressions.
They had not expected conditions this lenient. Nothing like what they had imagined.
"What else? Did you think I was going to kill all of you? Do you think I have nothing better to do?"
Kaito looked at the two of them with an expression that said they were badly overthinking things.
"Eh!!! Kai-chan, aren't we not busy every single day? Σ(っ°Д°;)っ"
Milim had quietly slipped over to their side at some point. Hearing Kaito's words, she immediately shouted with wide eyes.
"This... Milim, did you really just undermine me at a time like this!"
Kaito pulled out the Milim doll with the word 'Abyss' written on its clothes and charged at her.
"Hmph hmph! I won't give you a chance this time, Kai-chan!"
Milim pulled out the doll Rimuru had made for her and charged right back.
"Take my [Great Pendulum]!"
"Take my [Dragon's Impact]!"
"Pendulum!"
"Impact!"
"Pendulum..."
"Impact..."
"..."
Everyone present, except Diablo, stared at the two smashing each other with blank expressions.
'Can you two read the room? There is a war happening. Negotiations are underway. Could you possibly take anything seriously?!'
"Uh... Mr. Kaito, we've decided to surrender."
Sirzechs watched the two of them and, despite himself, let a small smile through.
A leader who could still be this genuine wasn't someone to be feared.
Hearing Sirzechs's words, Kaito froze for just a moment. Milim seized the opening.
"Hehe, a weakness!"
Whoosh... Boom...
Milim caught Kaito off guard and drove him into the ground with a [Dragon's Impact].
"Ptooey ptooey... Ceasefire, ceasefire! Let's deal with business first!"
Kaito cleaned himself off with magic and flew back up.
"Hmph hmph! I won again, Kai-chan! Wahahahaha!"
Kaito ignored Milim crowing beside him and turned to Sirzechs with a calm smile.
"I accept your surrender. All Jura Tempest Federation soldiers, stand down. The enemy has surrendered."
Kaito's voice carried instantly across the entire battlefield. Sirzechs simultaneously relayed the surrender order to all devils.
The devils who had still been fighting, upon receiving the order, all let out visible expressions of relief.
One devil in particular, with a large saber resting against his neck, couldn't hold back and started crying.
"Hmph. You're lucky. If Kaito-sama had spoken one second later, your head would already be gone."
The goblin soldier said it calmly while pulling his weapon back.
"Wuwuwu! Mom! I made it!"
Kaito swept his gaze across the ground below, littered with bodies, and thought of the steady stream of messages he had been getting from Sengoku lately.
He sighed.
"You lot are lucky. What fine soul material."
Kaito slowly raised his right hand. A brilliant green orb of light appeared in his palm.
"All of you, get up!!!"
The green orb shattered into countless tiny lights and scattered outward across the battlefield.
Wherever the green light touched, shattered bodies began to mend. Vitality flooded back in. Devils who had already died began to stir, and then to rise.
Kaito didn't revive every fallen devil. He only brought back those who had fought to the last and fallen on the battlefield. Those who had turned and fled, and been killed in the process, he left where they were. A few who had already made it far enough away he dealt with separately.
To borrow someone's words: only those who are not afraid of death deserve to live. The Jura Tempest Federation has no place for cowards.
"This... this... they're alive. All of them. They're alive!"
Serafall watched the devils rising all around her with tears streaming down her face.
Then, as if something occurred to her, she looked around quickly.
"What about Ajuka and Falbium?"
"Serafall, do you really want us both dead that badly?"
Serafall turned toward the voice. Ajuka Beelzebub and Falbium Asmodeus were standing there, looking at her with calm smiles.
