Chapter 200 - Titan's End

G-Max titans clashed with force that challenged the boundaries of what Pokémon battles could contain.

Mountain versus Sky.

Earth versus Air.

Elemental opposition given form through beings whose power exceeded what individual trainers typically commanded.

"G-Max Rockfall!"

Rhyperior's signature Gigantamax technique didn't attack horizontally, it commanded the sky itself to betray.

Meteors descended.

Massive stones pulled from atmosphere through gravitational manipulation that defied physics. The rocks rained down across the entire battlefield, covering area that even Flying-types couldn't escape.

Landorus took hits.

Rock super effective against Flying. Damage accumulated with each impact, the Forces of Nature member struggling to maintain altitude while being bombarded by technique that negated aerial advantage.

"G-Max Sandblast Storm!"

Landorus's counter created environmental assault that didn't target directly.

Massive sandstorm erupted, not the simple weather condition that lower-level techniques produced, but geological phenomenon that stripped protective layers from everything within range.

Rhyperior's armor eroded.

The defensive capability that had absorbed previous damage began wearing away under continuous assault that raw defense couldn't prevent.

"Ignoring defense," Miyuki observed. "The sandstorm bypasses Rhyperior's protection."

"Both strategies focus on attrition," Kiyomi analyzed. "Whoever endures longer wins."

The Dynamax timer continued its countdown.

Three minutes total.

Two remaining.

Neither combatant holding advantage that would survive the transformation's end.

"Max Rockfall!"

More meteors.

"Max Airstream!"

Wind pressure redirecting.

"Max Quake!"

Ground eruption from below.

"Max Strike!"

Physical force from above.

Each collision shook reality itself. The stadium barriers that engineering had designed for exactly this purpose strained toward limits they'd never before approached.

"Structural integrity at ninety-two percent," technical monitors reported.

Ultimate stress.

The battle was testing not just combatants but the arena that contained them.

One minute remaining.

Final phase.

"You've impressed me, boy."

Onoki's acknowledgment came with weight that decades of judging trainers had built.

"Your bond with Landorus exceeds what I typically encounter. Your strategy adapts. Your execution matches your planning."

"But, "

"But now, see true earth power."

Onoki's concentration deepened.

His connection to Rhyperior merged with something larger, the sacred ground that the gym had been built upon. The energy that Viridian had concentrated across millennia began flowing into the Primal Gigantamax form.

Drawing from the planet itself.

Unlimited earth.

Inexhaustible source.

Rhyperior's weakened armor began regenerating. Damage that the sandstorm had accumulated reversed as planetary energy replaced what had been lost.

"Home field advantage," Sasuke realized with crystalline clarity. "He can outlast anything by drawing from the earth itself."

The strategy that had been working was suddenly insufficient.

He couldn't win through attrition.

He had to end this now.

"Landorus, everything we have!"

Bond synchronization achieved perfect unity.

Not commander and commanded. Not trainer and Pokémon.

One being expressing itself through two forms.

This was what the tower's vision had shown. Partnership that transcended species. Unity that made impossible things possible.

"G-Max Sandblast Storm, MAXIMUM!"

The technique that launched exceeded what Landorus alone could produce.

Sasuke's will channeled through the bond, not simply directing, but participating. Human energy merged with Pokémon power, combined force flowing through partnership that had been building since their first meeting.

The sandstorm transformed.

Not just erosive force, purifying power.

Sacred sand.

Particles that carried energy from the ancient tower. Blessing from the first partnership. Recognition from the earth itself that this trainer understood what cooperation truly meant.

Rhyperior faced the sacred storm.

The planetary energy that Onoki had been channeling encountered something it recognized, the same bond that had built Viridian, that had established the first city, that had proven humans and Pokémon could create together.

Earth acknowledged earth.

But it also acknowledged partnership.

And Sasuke's bond with Landorus carried signature that sacred ground remembered.

Worthy.

The judgment came not from force but from recognition.

Rhyperior weakened.

Not from damage overwhelming its defenses.

From earth itself choosing to honor what the battle had demonstrated.

The Primal Gigantamax form that had been regenerating began diminishing. Not collapse, reverence. The Drill Pokémon knelt, acknowledging what its trainer's test had revealed.

Dynamax ended.

Both Pokémon returned to normal size, Primal transformations barely maintained.

Landorus hovered above the battlefield, exhausted, damaged, but victorious.

Rhyperior knelt on the ground, capable of continuing, but choosing not to.

"Referee."

Onoki's voice carried finality that the situation required.

"Call it."

The referee looked between the kneeling Rhyperior and the hovering Landorus, confusion evident.

"Gym Leader, your Pokémon can still battle..."

"He acknowledges the bond." Onoki's explanation carried understanding that only Earth Masters could possess. "Rhyperior feels what the sacred ground feels. Sasuke has proven true partnership."

"I don't understand..."

"That is the Earth Badge's true requirement." Onoki walked onto the battlefield, approaching the young trainer who had achieved what few ever would. "Not power. Not strategy. Partnership that the earth itself recognizes."

"Gym Leader Onoki concedes the match!"

The referee's declaration was unprecedented but official.

"Winner: Sasuke Uchiha!"
