Chapter 135 - chapter 136: The Organization Without a Name.

Victor finally told me what most people never learn.

"They don't have a public name,"

he said.

"Then how do people refer to them?"

His answer was simple.

"The Circle."

That name alone sounded dangerous.

"What do they want?" I asked.

Victor leaned back slightly.

"Stability through control."

"That sounds like dictatorship."

"It is," he replied calmly.

"But in business form."

Cold realization settled in my chest.

"They tried to recruit my father?"

"Yes."

"And now me?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

Victor's answer was honest.

"Because you think long term.

Because you choose structure over chaos.

Because you don't panic."

That didn't feel like a compliment.

It felt like profiling.

"What happens if I refuse?"

Victor didn't answer immediately.

"That depends."

"On what?"

"On whether they think you're harmless…"

Pause.

"…or a future problem."

That was the first time I understood the real danger.

This wasn't about joining.

It was about whether they would allow me to stay independent.

I met Elara again.

This time she looked more serious.

"You need to be careful,"

she said immediately.

"I already am."

"No," she replied.

"You don't understand how patient they are."

I studied her carefully.

"How do you know so much?"

She hesitated.

Then answered:

"Because I was almost part of them once."

That shocked me.

"What?"

"They approached me before your father refused."

Everything suddenly felt bigger.

"What did they want from you?"

"They wanted influence through proximity."

I understood.

"They wanted you to influence my father."

She nodded slowly.

"Yes."

"And you refused?"

Her voice became quiet.

"Yes."

"Why?"

Her answer surprised me.

"Because he still believed in limits."

That word again.

Limits.

Maybe that was the real difference between powerful people.

Some want everything.

Some decide what is enough.
