Victor stepped into the light.
Calm.
Like a man who already won.
"Where is Daniel?" I demanded.
He smiled slightly.
"Safe. For now."
My hands clenched.
"What do you want?"
He studied my face.
"Answers."
"About what?"
"Your father."
My stomach tightened.
"You ruined my life," he continued.
"My father did nothing to you," I said.
Victor laughed quietly.
"That's what they told you."
My chest felt tight.
"Then tell me the truth."
Victor walked slowly around me.
"Your father didn't just destroy my business."
Silence.
"He destroyed people."
I swallowed.
"How?"
Victor's eyes hardened.
"Illegal deals."
My heart skipped.
"Fake contracts."
My breathing became shallow.
"Threats."
Then he said the worst part.
"And someone died because of him."
