~LYRA'S POV~
It came without warning.
One moment I was mid-strike, the Moonborn light blazing on my arms, moving through the field with everything I had, and then something inside me gave way.
Not from exhaustion. Not from a wound. From inside, somewhere deeper than either of those things, a sudden, crashing pressure, like a door I'd been bracing against my whole life had just buckled under the weight of everything on the other side of it. The ground came up to meet me without me deciding to go down. My knees hit the earth and the impact wasn't even fully registered because what was happening inside me was louder than everything outside.
The silver light flooded out of me.
Not the controlled pulse I'd been working with all night. All of it, uncontained, blazing outward from where I knelt in every direction at once. I felt it leave me the way you felt a held breath release, total and involuntary and somehow both terrible and right.
Every wolf on the field stopped.
