Chapter 23 - The Duty Of An Older Brother

Daichi stood like a pillar in the center of the chaos, his eyes scanning the battlefield with the cold precision of a veteran. The air was thick with the scent of ozone and the terrified whimpers of the students behind him.

"Rhyperior, Ursaluna take the front and center!" Daichi ordered, his voice cutting through the chaos. "Hippowdon, Drapion, Nidoking, you're the barrier. Don't let those Aggrons gain an inch of momentum. Contain them!"

As the heavyweights slammed into the primary line of Aggrons, creating a thunderous noise as they clashed, Daichi gestured to his support team. "Excadrill, Gengar, Salazzle go sweep the flanks. The Arons and Lairons are trying to circle around. Pick them off and keep them off the students!"

The students watched in awe as the "Heavyweight Wall" met the steel tide. Nidoking's Earth Power rippled the floor, creating small trenches that funneled the smaller Pokémon into Salazzle's waiting Toxic clouds. Daichi was a master of war, ensuring that the sheer number of enemies couldn't overwhelm his superior quality.

Nidoking charged with his Life Orb gleaming and his Sheer Force ability mitigated the recoil while he slammed a Fire Punch into a Lairon and followed with an Ice Punch that shattered the armor of another. On his sides Drapion used Poison Cross to shred the front line and Hippowdon unleashed a localized Sand Tomb that swallowed three Aggrons up to their knees.

From the corners Ursaluna and Rhyperior charged and the Aggrons along with a few Lairons were contained by them. Ursaluna used Headlong Rush to plow through the steel ranks while Rhyperior hammered the ground with a massive Stone Edge that sent jagged pillars through the enemy formations.

Some Arons broke through Dragalge's Sludge Bomb bombardment and headed for the terrified students however they were blocked by Snorlax and Gastrodon. Snorlax used Body Slam to flatten the lead Arons and Gastrodon sprayed a high pressure Muddy Water that washed the rest back into the rock walls.

The majority of the Arons and Lairons were being held down by Excadrill and Salazzle and Gengar. Excadrill spun through the crowd with Iron Head and Salazzle filled the gaps with a thick Dragon Pulse while Gengar vanished and reappeared to strike from the shadows with Shadow Ball.

The injured pro trainer was stabilized by Audino and Blissey as they used Heal Pulse and Soft-Boiled to keep him alive. Indeedee on the other hand was sweating because she was continuously using Helping Hand and Psychic Terrain to buff the entire team for the duration of the slaughter.

The enemy Aggrons retaliated with a synchronized Flash Cannon that lit up the dark cavern but Nidoking stepped forward and absorbed the heat with his bulk. A group of Lairons used Take Down to slam into Rhyperior and the sound of metal on rock echoed like a hammer on an anvil.

The remaining Arons used Metal Claw to scrape at Gastrodon's hide but the Ground type simply absorbed the friction and shoved them back with an Earth Power that cracked the floor.

Meanwhile, hundreds of meters away, the atmosphere was different. The silence of the abandoned mineshaft was shattered by a collision that sounded like two mountains colliding together.

Tyranitar skidded backward, his claws digging deep furrows into the stone floor as he absorbed the impact of the Alpha's Iron Tail. The Aggron was a monster, three meters of steel and fury. It didn't care about the integrity of the cave, it only wanted to crush the intruder.

Tyranitar roared, a roar that made the dust dance on the rafters. He lunged forward, his massive shoulder connecting with the Aggron's chest. The Alpha stumbled, but its weight was immense. It recovered instantly, swinging its tail again.

Tyranitar didn't dodge. He caught the tail with one clawed hand, his muscles bulging, and used the proximity to fire a Hyper Beam directly into the Alpha's face. The explosion was blinding, the white-hot energy scorching the Aggron's visor.

Enraged, the Alpha Aggron unhinged its jaw. A dark, spiraling Hyper Beam of its own erupted, slamming into Tyranitar's chest.

Tyranitar grunted, his feet sliding back. He was objectively the more powerful Pokémon, but he was fighting with a leash around his neck. Every time he prepared a Stone Edge or a high-output Earthquake, he felt the structural tremors of the ceiling. He had to absorb hits he would normally deflect, just to keep the cave stable for the humans above. The Alpha sensed this hesitation and lunged again, its metallic claws glowing with a murderous light.

The situation at the Daichi's area was a stalemate, he clicked his tongue in annoyance. Individually the enemy were manageable but their sheer numbers made recovery impossible. Every time one line fell another replaced it.

Meanwhile, across the fractured cave system Tyranitar stood before the towering alpha Aggron. Both were breathing heavily. Aggron's armor was cracked in places and Tyranitar's scales bore deep gouges. The battle had reached a stalemate but Tyranitar's stance was steadier. He was the eldest brother and the pillar. What use was a gaurdian if the younger ones bled alone?

His roar erupted. It was not loud or wild but it made the cave ceiling trembled and dust cascaded from stone walls, while entire tunnels quivered from the force of it. Back on the main battlefield Daichi felt the vibration beneath his boots and a faint rumble rolled through the air. He smirked.

"I wonder why he's getting so worked up for."

Aggron charged first with Iron Head and drilled forward like a battering ram. Tyranitar braced and answered with Rock Throw as he ripped three massive boulders from the cavern walls and hurled them in rapid succession. The first shattered against Aggron's chest plate and the second struck its shoulder to stagger its footing. The third crashed directly into its helm. Aggron could not dodge in the confined space and it reeled but did not fall.

Tyranitar moved with shocking speed for his size and lunged forward. He slammed into Aggron with Crunch and his jaws clamped onto steel plating while sparks flew from the grinding pressure. He did not stop and drove forward with crushing steps. He forced the alpha backward through one stone wall then another and then another. Rock exploded around them as Tyranitar bulldozed his opponent deeper into the cave network to put distance between himself and Daichi. He needed space and isolation.

Aggron retaliated with Heavy Slam and crashed down with its full weight but Tyranitar absorbed the impact and answered with a point blank Stone Edge. Jagged pillars erupted upward and tore into Aggron's underside. He started pushing the Alpha through numerous walls , he had to go further , far enough that even if he went all out his trainer and his siblings can fight without them getting caught in the crossfire.

They broke into a wider chamber and Tyranitar finally released his bite and stepped back. He was far enough.

The air shifted and his ability activated. Sand Stream filled the room but in the enclosed cavern the storm did not spread. It compressed and sand whipped violently in tight spirals to shred visibility. The chamber filled with a vortex of stone and dust and even breathing became difficult. Aggron roared and fired a desperate Flash Cannon but the beam cut through the sandstorm and dispersed as the storm thickened.

Two crimson eyes gleamed through the haze. Tyranitar lifted his arms and the ground cracked. He brought them down with Earthquake and the chamber split while stone cracked and Aggron stumbled. Before it could stabilize ,Tyranitar vanished into the storm and reappeared at full force. He drove forward with primitive tackle and the collision detonated the compressed sand outward in a violent shockwave that shook the entire cave system again.

Back on the battlefield even Aggron's kin hesitated, they had felt the tremors and wondered what beast their leader was up against. Deep within the chamber, sand scraped against steel and through the dust Tyranitar's eyes burned brighter.

*Author's Notes*

Aight I hope I did my best to portray Tyranitar as the older brother of the team. As the first pokemon of Daichi , he naturally assumed the position of leader among his teammates, but he views his teammates more as smaller siblings. So even if Daichi had not commanded him to Attack the alpha Agrron, he would've done it anyway, since that's what he believes an older brother should do.

also , we hit 20k 🎉 🥳 that's another milestone that we've hit and it's not even been one week , I'm so thankful for all the support and pls leave a review or comment on how i can improve. This means alot to me , anyways

Author signing out , peace out fam ❤️
