Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Time Jump Great Method! (Bonus Chapter)

With things weighing on her mind, Kate slept lightly for half an hour and felt refreshed.

But since Newt had insisted she rest, she had no choice but to quietly sneak out of bed and take a book about magical creatures from the shelf to read.

Since she was in the home of a master Magizoologist, she had to learn some real skills at the very least. If there were ever a situation where she was forced to venture into the Forbidden Forest in the future, she needed to understand the details of the magical creatures inside.

Just having that bit of favorability wasn't enough. For example, regarding that colony of Acromantulas in the Forbidden Forest... the female spiders inside probably wouldn't go against their colony just because they had max-level favorability towards her.

"Acromantula, enjoys eating human flesh, possesses eight black eyes, whole body covered in thick black hair..."

She wondered what spell could kill them.

Kate whispered the introduction while simulating various spells in her mind. However, the spells taught in Hogwarts classrooms were likely all lifestyle or counter-attack spells. Even Harry Potter used the Disarming Charm the most.

It seemed she could only secretly self-study. Newt probably wouldn't teach her those spells with too much lethality anyway.

"Dear, are you awake?" Tina knocked on the door from outside. Pushing it open, she saw her sitting on the bed reading again.

Kate closed the book, feeling a bit embarrassed. "I slept for half an hour, but when I remembered that today's lessons were delayed by a lot, I couldn't sleep anymore."

"You don't need to work so hard; we still have plenty of time."

Tina smiled helplessly, walking to her bedside and whispering, "Newt just told me he has obtained Professor Dumbledore's consent to let you stay here for a year before enrolling on your own."

"Eh?" Kate was stunned and hurriedly sat up straight. "Then about my enrollment..."

"Professor Dumbledore said that after you return, you can attend classes with the second years, or you can attend classes with the first-year students. Hogwarts respects your own wishes."

Then couldn't she enroll in the same year as Hermione?

Kate felt a surge of joy, but then, remembering the plot of the original work, her mood instantly plummeted to rock bottom.

She wasn't the protagonist. Rashly facing Voldemort, who hadn't resurrected yet, with her current abilities would be too much to handle.

The Shafiq family were all pure-bloods, yet all died at Voldemort's hands. Her background was known to everyone in the magical world.

If Voldemort returned according to the original plot, he definitely wouldn't let her go either. Even if she chose to follow the second years in class, what was destined to come couldn't be dodged, and in the end, it wouldn't be convenient to participate in the plot.

"Ma'am," she gripped the book in her hand tightly, "we can talk about these things later. Since the Headmaster has agreed to let me stay temporarily at Teacher's home, I will definitely study hard and won't be worse than the students at school."

"You don't need to pressure yourself either. Your teacher and I will both teach you well."

Tina looked at her gently. Who wouldn't like such a sensible and motivated child?

"Mm!" Kate nodded and immediately climbed out of bed. "Then let's go to class now!"

Tina was stunned. "Now? But your body..."

"I'm fine now! I've read quite a bit of History of Magic before. I'll have to trouble Teacher to come up with a test set. Time is urgent, I don't want to delay."

Saying this, Kate hurriedly placed the book back in its original spot and opened the door to go downstairs.

Such decisiveness left Tina somewhat dazed.

After a long while, the once swift and decisive American Auror covered her mouth and chuckled softly.

This child... once she made up her mind to act, she was quite similar to her former self.

...

"System, open personal interface."

Kate sat at the desk, propping up her head and sighing. In front of her were piles of various assignments she had just finished.

In a blink of an eye, the two months of summer vacation had passed. She had drunk the potion sent by Snape twenty times, and the Daily Quests released by the System had reached number 60.

But this was exactly what Kate was worried about.

[Congratulations Host on completing Daily Quest 60!]

[From today onwards, the System will no longer release Daily Quests. Please explore on your own.]

What "explore on your own"? It was totally just afraid of being fleeced by her!

For these two months, she had worked from dawn to dusk. She absolutely had to do every task released by the System, gaining one Attribute Point every day to improve herself.

At the same time, she had to balance the two-on-one exclusive tutoring from Newt and Tina, and the daily homework was becoming increasingly heavy.

Relying on the various stacked attribute buffs, she could barely cope with this life, and even managed to secretly practice spells on the side.

However, perhaps concerned that she was too young and her magic was unstable, the Scamander couple had not taught her any spells related to Defence Against the Dark Arts.

So, until now, she had barely mastered most of the basic lifestyle spells.

As for those slightly more advanced spells, the only ones she knew were Protego and the Disarming Charm, and she had secretly self-taught herself both.

Although judging from the paper data, her personal attributes were already stronger than many upper-year students, it was practically useless.

Cedric was strong enough, right?

As soon as Voldemort resurrected, one Avada Kedavra and he was gone.

Comparing herself only to current students had no future.

She knew this deeply, so for these two months, she had been desperately fleeced the System. But now that there was no wool to gather, it would be difficult to improve her strength so easily later.

Sure enough, after taking too many shortcuts, trying to return to the original path and move forward steadily really created a psychological gap.

"System, if there are no Daily Quests and no Main Quests, are there any Side Quests I can do?"

[Currently, there are no Side Quests.]

Tsk, boring.

Kate lay exhausted on the table. Just as she wanted to wail for her bygone days of fleece-gathering, a knock sounded at the door.

"Little Kate, Rand heard you've grown taller again, so he specially sent over some new clothes."

Tina walked in holding two sets of clothes, only to see her lying on the table with no regard for her image, two cowlicks sticking up on her head.

"What's wrong? Don't like the new clothes? Or is the homework too hard and you can't do it?" she teased.

Kate straightened up and respectfully handed over the homework she had just finished. "The homework isn't hard, it's just that it's already September..."

Tina immediately understood what she meant. She put down the clothes, leaned over, and hugged her. "You can go to Hogwarts next year too. Don't be sad."

"Mm..." Kate lowered her head and responded with a muffled sound.

Next year. There was only one year's time. This year would pass quickly.

Hogwarts, she was coming soon.
