Chapter 49
Afterward, Yang Jian had Coulson arrange accommodations for Optimus Prime and the others, leaving Bumblebee behind.
The portal's light faded away.
In the villa living room, only Yang Jian, Wanda, and Mikaela remained.
Mikaela stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the turquoise sea and private beach outside.
Her fingers lightly traced the edge of the leather sofa, eyes full of disbelief.
"This is really your home?"
She murmured, "I've never seen anything this luxurious even in movies!"
Yang Jian took a bottle of red wine from the cabinet, smiling as he poured two glasses: "It's your home now too."
He handed one to Mikaela: "Relax. Treat it like your own place."
Mikaela took the glass, her gaze shifting between Yang Jian and Wanda.
Wanda lounged lazily on the sofa, scarlet energy swirling in her hand like something alive.
"I get it."
Mikaela suddenly said, taking a sip of wine. "I'll behave."
Wanda raised an eyebrow and smiled: "No need to be nervous, Mikaela. The only rule here is don't make Yang Jian angry."
Yang Jian sat between them and wrapped an arm around Wanda's waist.
"Where's Helen? I haven't seen her these past few days."
"Helen?"
Wanda tilted her head: "She's been at the company since the morning you left. Said the new biotech firm needed her to oversee things. She leaves early and comes back late—only stays overnight here in the evenings."
Yang Jian nodded, surprised at how seriously she was taking it.
"Should we call her back?" Wanda's fingers drew circles on Yang Jian's chest.
"Or…" Her gaze drifted meaningfully toward Mikaela.
Mikaela looked a little awkward and quickly stood up: "I'm going to change!"
Watching Mikaela hurry away, Wanda couldn't help but smile. She turned, straddled Yang Jian's lap, and wrapped her arms around his neck: "Yang, where did you go?"
Yang Jian naturally held her waist: "An ordinary world. The only unusual thing was that group of robots."
"An ordinary world?"
Wanda mused: "Looks like different worlds have different rules."
At that moment, Mikaela came back down. She had changed into a fresh outfit.
Yang Jian looked at her and suddenly pulled a glowing blue serum vial from his pocket, tossing it to her casually.
"This is your reward." Yang Jian said with a smile.
Mikaela caught it clumsily, staring at the blue liquid inside in confusion: "What is this?"
"There are no ordinary people in this house."
Yang Jian shrugged: "Inject it. You'll like the results."
Wanda thoughtfully handed her a syringe: "Don't worry—it won't hurt."
Mikaela took a deep breath and injected the serum into her arm as instructed.
At first there was only a slight sting, but soon a warm current surged through her body.
"Ah!" she exclaimed, feeling every cell in her body singing with energy.
Muscle fibers restructured. Bones strengthened. Neural reaction speed increased exponentially.
A faint golden glow appeared on her skin; the surrounding air distorted slightly from the heat.
"This… this is practically a miracle!" Mikaela stared at her hands in disbelief. She could feel the surging power inside her.
"I feel like I could punch through a car right now!"
Yang Jian nodded in satisfaction: "Punching through a car is nothing. You can now exert over a hundred tons of force—you could even punch through Bumblebee."
Mikaela excitedly clenched her fist. A ball of blazing flame instantly ignited in her palm. She was shocked to discover she could perfectly control the fire—and even sense the flow of other energies in the air.
"I have fire powers too?" she asked in delight, flicking her finger. A spark bloomed in the air.
"That's not all," Yang Jian explained.
"Your body has been fully enhanced. Speed, strength, endurance—all far beyond human limits. The fire ability is just one part. You'll discover more surprises."
Wanda smiled and handed her a glass of ice water: "Try controlling the temperature?"
Mikaela took the glass. With a thought, the water instantly boiled—then froze solid in the next second.
She was so excited she nearly jumped up: "This is unbelievable!"
Evening Reunion
Night fell. The villa's soft lighting illuminated the living room.
Yang Jian lounged lazily on the sofa. The TV was playing news, but he wasn't really watching—just enjoying a rare moment of peace.
Suddenly the front door opened. Zhao Helen walked in quickly, high heels clicking.
The moment she saw Yang Jian on the sofa, her eyes lit up.
"You're finally back!" Helen hurried over and threw herself into his arms, giving him a passionate hug.
"I haven't seen you in two days."
Yang Jian caught her with a smile and patted her back lightly: "I'm back now, aren't I?"
Helen lifted her head from his chest and asked curiously: "Where were you these past couple of days? I couldn't find you anywhere."
"Went to play in another world." Yang Jian said lightly.
At that moment, Mikaela came out of the kitchen carrying several beautifully plated dishes: "Dinner is ready…"
Her words trailed off halfway when she saw the beautiful Eastern woman in Yang Jian's arms.
Helen noticed Mikaela too. She gracefully rose from Yang Jian's embrace and smiled warmly: "Is this the new friend you brought back?"
"That's right."
Yang Jian stood up and introduced them: "Helen, this is Mikaela. Mikaela, this is Dr. Zhao Helen—my family."
"Hi!" Mikaela set the plates down a little nervously and wiped her hands on her apron. "Nice to meet you."
Helen extended her hand kindly: "Welcome to the family, Mikaela. Did you make these dishes? They look amazing."
"Yes—I hope you like them." Mikaela smiled shyly.
Soon the four of them were seated around the long dining table.
The table was filled with delicious food; the atmosphere was warm and harmonious.
"Helen, how's the company been these past couple of days?" Yang Jian asked while cutting his steak.
Helen's eyes lit up immediately: "Really good! Although according to the original plan we weren't going to enter the robotics field at this stage, Tony Stark convinced me to make an exception."
"JARVIS?" Yang Jian guessed instantly.
"That's right." Helen nodded and elegantly took a sip of red wine.
"Tony wants JARVIS to have real life—not just be an AI program. But we haven't started the experiments yet. He's still upgrading JARVIS's underlying code, hoping to make him a true living entity."
Yang Jian set down his knife and fork thoughtfully: "Interesting. I just happen to have a new direction I can offer."
"What direction?" Helen asked curiously.
"Alien technology."
Excitement flickered in Yang Jian's eyes: "It can transform mechanical bodies into living combat robots."
Helen's eyes widened in surprise: "There's actually technology like that?"
"Of course."
Yang Jian gave a mysterious smile: "But let's eat first. I'll talk details with Tony later."
Wanda sat quietly to the side, watching the three of them discuss animatedly. A gentle smile unconsciously curved her lips.
Mikaela watched Yang Jian with open admiration, completely captivated by him.
Outside the window, moonlight shimmered on the surface of the pool, casting rippling reflections.
Inside the villa, laughter and conversation filled the air.
