Chapter 122 - Dripping blood

Tristan was sitting in a café with his wife and even though, he had his stoic expression, there wasn't any darkness in it, he simply looked tired. "So...what do you want to name our upcoming child?" His wife asked, a slight smirk on her face.

"Whatever works," Tristan replied simply, taking a sip of his coffee.

"Come on, don't be like that!" She let out a small chuckle, before sighing. "Fine then. It shall be Tristan number two!"

"...I hope that's a joke," Tristan said with a slight smile. "And you do know that the baby is a girl, right?"

There was a small moment of silence before Tristan spoke up again, "we can discuss the name after she is born. Moreover, shouldn't we be concerned about the festival? What is it about anyway?"

"It's some sort of Japanese festival that a random old guy arranged," Sophia said, taking a sip of her coffee. "I am supposed to wear a kimono while men are allowed to wear whatever they want."

"Oh...? Kimono, huh? You're gonna look cute in that," Tristan with a smirk, causing her to slightly blush. "Tch, why do I have wear something like that. You know what? You're gonna wear something embrassing too!"

"No, I am not," Tristan replied, trying his best to be serious and give a cold look to her. "I will not be wearing anything that you choose. No matter wha-"

In the very next moment, Tristan is seen wearing a 3 piece suit. However, it was no ordinary suit as it was pink and covered with "I love my wife," texts while Sophia was wearing a beautiful kimono, making her already pretty features even more pretty, the fireworks highlighting the frame of her face.

Though, right now, she was trying her best to not burst out in laughter from looking at Tristan's face, who looked like he wanted to disappear. "I hate you," Tristan said, clenching his fist, causing her to slightly chuckle. Though, she soon felt slightly bad.

"Hey...I might have gotten a bit too far," Sophia said, feeling slightly guilty.

"...It's fine," Tristan said, sighing. "As long as it makes you laugh...though, I will be taking revenge," Tristan said, giving a cold, revenge thirsty look.

"Oh...no! Please be gentle...okay?" she said dramatically, covering herself with her hands, fake tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Wh-What are you implying?!" Tristan said, his cheeks red, causing Sophia to burst out in laughter. "Guess I make you blush too easily, huh?"

"Whatever. I'll get some ice creams or something. Wait here," Tristan said, who soon got the ice creams and came back. "Strawberry, your favorite."

"...Thanks," Sophia said with a genuine smile.

"Let's get to a quiet spot. The crowds are a bit too much," Tristan said with a slight, tired smile.

She nodded and within a few minutes, they were sitting on a bench in a dark spot, far away from any stalls or crowds. "Is the strawberry flavor good? Haven't tried it," Tristan said, licking his own vanilla ice cream. "Can I try?"

"Sure," She replied, expecting him to lick her ice cream but instead, he simply kissed her. "Hm, tastes good but I still prefer vanilla," Tristan said as if nothing had ever happened.

Meanwhile, Sophia's face turned crimson red. "Ewww! What the hell?! Where did that come from?!"

"Guess I make you blush, huh?" Tristan said with a smirk and a wink.

"I hate you," Sophia said, looking the other way

With that, they both finished their ice creams and made their way home. And since they were quite exhausted, they both instantly went to sleep and morning soon came.

Tristan woke up, expecting Sophia to be right next to him but instead all he was met with was bloodstains. A lot of them. Which caused Tristan to be slightly confused but mostly, concerned. He looked around for Sophia but found nothing. "Honey?" Tristan said in a slightly high voice.

However, there was no response.

And then...he noticed blood dripping from above and once he looked up, what he saw took the life out of his face. It looked like Sophia had hanged herself, a rope circling her neck and the fan. However, the fact that half of her body was missing said otherwise. It was almost as if someone had vertically split her in half, revealing her organs and everything that was in a human body.

And the worse part wasn't the gruesome scene in front of him or the blood dripping onto the mattress or even the smell. It was the face that said everything that needed to be said. It was the fact that Sophia was gone.

What Tristan had seen wasn't a murder. It was an execution.
